6 similarities between Irish heritage and basketball

March Madness

March Madness the time of my people. A time that people take pictures with redheads like they are Santa Claus in the mall. The 31 days of pure Irish. The month of pure Irish pride.

March Madness is the time of the basketball fandom -- a time when people work to get their perfect bracket. The 31 days of pure basketball. The month of pure basketball fandom.

The following six similarities between Irish pride and basketball pride are striking.

1. Trying to game plan but getting to excited in the process.

Nothing is better than begin too excited for something that you just dance as you discuss details.

2. The dance moves.

The Irish jig has taken over the month of March.

3. The excitement.

We wait all year for this one month.

4. The extreme fans who go all out.

Nothing will stop these creatures from doing their favorite thing -- celebrating.

5. The bands.

Nothing better than jamming to some live music as you enjoy the 31-day party!

6. All we need is a little bit of luck.

Whether it's the luck of the Irish or the luck of the perfect bracket.

To all my real Irish (and temporary Irish) folks out there:

Rule 1. Having feeling without feeling.
