President Donald Trump hasn't been in office for one month, and the environment in the United States, already, shifted 180 degrees. According to USA Today, "President Trump has already signed two proclamations, seven executive orders, and seven presidential memoranda. He's invented a new form of presidential directive — the national security presidential memorandum — and signed three of those."
One of the executive orders that has shaken the nation is the Travel Ban, also known as the "Muslim ban" put into effect at the end of January; in which hundreds of people, flying from outside of the country, were kept from entering the United States due to their country of origin. President Donald Trump has his eye on seven specific "countries of concern": Iraq, Syria, Sudan, Iran, Somalia, Libya, and Yemen. So far, 100,000 visas have been revoked from citizens of these countries.
Many different opinions have erupted from this presidential decision, as usual, people took on Twitter to express their feelings toward this news. A couple of days ago I stumble across a Tweet sharing the CNN coverage on Iran's decision on limiting American immigration, in reciprocity to President Trump's ban , to which someone subtweeted with this:
Some agreed, some disagreed, but @dearmrchrist took it upon himself to defend his nation and show a side of Iran the media fails to broadcast.
He then proceeded to explain how Iranians live normal lives just like everyone else does.
I wanted to write this article not to make a political remark (again), but to bring a different perspective into the mix. Many times, the media does not show the whole picture. Let's take it upon ourselves to find the reality in what we think we know.
