For Christmas this year, I asked for my phone to be upgraded, it was the only thing I wanted and I was willing to wait until February when I was eligible for an upgrade, but luckily I was blessed with some awesome parents who took my sister and I to the Verizon store and told us to pick which one we wanted. It was a surprise and I was really excited about it, I hadn’t had a new phone in more than three years and so I switched from a Samsung Galaxy S4 to an iPhone 6S Plus, so here are a few reasons I prefer my iPhone.
Battery Life
Compared to my Samsung which I had had for years, the battery on my iPhone lasts my 2 full days without charging at night. I couldn’t ask for better battery life considering my old phone didn’t last me from the time I got up for class at 8 to noon.
Camera
The camera on my iPhone takes ridiculously better photos and I don’t just mean selfies, I took a picture of my dog an I could see every detail of his fur and face, it was awesome! Below is the picture of my dog, Cooper.
Fingerprint sensor
I love the fingerprint sensor; it is just a genuinely neat thing. With my old phone I was swiping the screen and had to give it a minute to open, but I think that is because it was older.
Emojis
Samsung didn’t really keep up with emojis and I never had new ones, but now with my iPhone I have all of the new emojis including my new favorite (because it gets on my sister’s nerves) the egg.
Group chats
I have an on-going group chat with my best friends at school and they both had iPhones and they got each message right away whereas my Samsung didn’t receive them until one or two minutes later and then I was behind on the conversation and now everything is instant. Also it allows me to group chat with my mom and sister who also have iPhones.
Facetime
I usually Facetime my mom on my iPad that I got for Christmas last year, and one of the first things she said to me is “now you can Facetime me from your phone!” which is another reason I love my mom.
Siri
It was hard for me to use the voice command on my Samsung and it would often get mixed up, but Siri is very helpful and can be personalized, for example, my Siri is a male voice with an Australian accent, it makes me feel good to tell a male voice what to do.
Sometimes I still forget that I don’t have to do certain things on my iPhone that I did on my Samsung, but overall I really like my new iPhone and I cannot thank my parents enough for being the best parents a girl could ask for.
