6 Things To Expect From The iPhone 7 Release

This is it, what we’ve all (well, some of us), have been waiting for; the highly anticipated iPhone 7 has finally been released! But if you were waiting to get one, hope you preordered one because they’ve already sold out.

On September 8th, a first ever video of the iPhone 7 was released on the Apple twitter page.

Here’s the #AppleEvent where Apple released its first ever video of the iPhone 7:

The released phone announced that it includes:

1. 5 Available colors

The traditional rose gold, gold and now with the introduction of its two newest colors, both shades of black; matte and glossy finish.

2. New home button

The home button may look the same, but it features a new solid-state design. But sources say, the button doesn't work without skin contact, so don't wear gloves while using it!

3. New better retina Camera

It's great for low light photos and there's a new additional duo-camera which allows for optical/digital zooms.

4. Longer battery Life

5. Dust and Water RESISTANT!

Which does not mean that the phone is water proof! Which is what people do not pay close attention to. This simply means that water will spill off phone, not that you can swim/ take underwater pictures with your phone.

The difference between “water-resistant,” and “waterproof” is that “water-resistant” means that water cannot penetrate an object completely, but there is a chance that water eventually can get into the materials of an object. An object cannot fully be protected from water when it is resistant, water can pass through the pores in an object. While “waterproof” means that water is completely useless against something. It means that an object can be fully submerged into water and even overtime water will not get through an object’s pores, keeping it [object] 100 percent dry.

6. Wireless headphones (AirPods)

Say goodbye to the headphone jack because Apple has introduced its newest concept, wireless (Bluetooth) headphones [AirPods]. However, the iPhone 7s do come with the classic apple EarPods, they’ve just been redesigned with a lightning port instead of the traditional 1mm jack. But, if you’re feeling a little bit adventurous, Apple has introduced their first ever wireless headphones called the AirPods.

Even though some of Apple’s newest features don’t make the iPhone 7 that much different than its predecessor the iPhone 6, will this defer some people from getting the iPhone 7? Guess we’ll have to wait and find out!

As college students, we are all familiar with the horror show that is course registration week. Whether you are an incoming freshman or selecting classes for your last semester, I am certain that you can relate to how traumatic this can be.

1. When course schedules are released and you have a conflict between two required classes.

Bonus points if it is more than two.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

As an English Major in college, I have a lot of writing and especially creative writing pieces that I work on throughout the semester and sometimes, I'll find it hard to get the motivation to type a few pages and the thought process that goes behind it. These are eleven thoughts that I have as a writer while writing my stories.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
