So it is no secret, the new iPhone 7 and 7 plus have launched. Everyone is trying to get their hands on one but what is the best way? The true answer really is, it depends. But have no fear, after reading this you'll have a game plan on getting the iPhone you want while possibly saving money at the same time.
7 or 7plus? Well, the only real difference is the size and the camera. The size should be a higher priority to you than the camera, the reason being is the plus doesn't fit in everyone's pockets. If you do not zoom in on the camera, which most of the time your not going to, you don't need that second lens that it comes with unless you, of course, are a photographer.
The first thing to decide is what storage size would you like. Most people need something a little larger than 32gb especially if you're going to own the phone for more then two years. With the additional feature to shoot raw DNG photos, if you're a photographer, you're going to want to shoot with that file format and with that comes larger file size for your photos. With that said, most of us use quite a few apps and all of us have 1,000 photos on our phones so in my mind the 128gb should be the new standard. 253gb is the step up for people who need even more storage. For the ones that live through your phone, the 256gb is for you. Since the launch, the 128gb has been the most popular size for good reason so availability is going to be tight with any store you go to. If you can afford the $100 price difference, the 256gb is going to be the easiest phone to get or so I've seen in my research. Thinking $100 is a lot? Don't sweat it most of us financing our phones these days through our carrier provider over 24 months anyway. 100/24=4.6 now this is a rough estimate but it's like it's less than $8 more a month for double the storage size of the 128gb.
The 2nd is deciding the color. If you're looking to walk into a store and pick up a phone, you can't be picky about color. I make a personal list of which color is your top pick, second pick, third and so on. I want you to be happy with your phone so right away don't settle for your least favorite color but your 2nd or 3rd pick won't be that bad. You are likely to put a case on it anyway so your only major concern is the color on the front. If the new jet black really tickles your fancy your not going to get it in the store right now. With the said, you have to think if the jet black is even right for you. I understand that its the newest color and it seems extremely cool in there but the one big major flaw with it is scratches and fingerprints those to things are unavoidable with the Jet black phone.
So you have your phone in mind. You want the 128gb gold iPhone are you are ready to buy it, but where do you go? Well, your best bet to get exactly what you want is to order it online, but the problem with that is you have to wait for it to ship (sorry no amazon prime shipping here). You could go to an Apple store, but all the apple stores in my area have a line out the door waiting to get a phone. What about stores like Costco and Best Buy you ask? They are going to be your best bet for multiple reasons. All the new iPhones are carrier universal, so in stores like that, they share inventory. No more AT&T phones then Verizon phones they share the same inventory which gives you more phones to naturally choose from. As well as they are able to run promotions, your carriers might not be doing such as gift card promotions and other exclusive offers. Your last and final option is to get it from your carrier, but they can be confusing and may try to talk you into things you don't wanna do, but it is getting the phone from the source itself.
