I have been self-dyeing my hair now for two years now with the exception of one salon dye in Italy because.. well.. it was Italy. Through my do's and do not's and utter mishaps, I have been pretty good at deciding what works and what does not work with my own hair. Typically, at a salon, I could end up with a bill ranging from $120-150 and have the stylist asking if she has to dry my hair-- is that not included in the hefty price I am paying you? Well, for about $30, you can dye you hair at home too, a price that drops even lower if you hair is shorter than my three-foot-long burden.
All you need is: dye, developer, a mixing bowl, an application brush, gloves, a dye cap (though a dye cape might be something you want as well), and hair treatments.
Obviously with all hair colors, developers, and brands, results may vary. Overall, it is not a bad color. It does not last as long as you may hope, but maybe I am just missing a step in the process for lovely hair.
