College a stressful time and an investment you are making that will most likely affect the rest of your life. There are so many things to do with such little time. We all wanting to be the shinning stars in the class while still being able to be involved on campus regularly and stay fit at the gym. Here are some investments to make that will make your life a little smoother and convenient in the time of need.

Headphones – Walking will consist a large part of your life. Sometimes when you have those early 8 A.M. classes or late 6 P.M., music can brighten up your mood. With headphones, you can block out the world and listen to your favorite songs while walking to class. And, before you know it you are there in a better mood. Another perk is that during the winter they can double as earmuffs, so your ears will be nice and toasty when jamming out to your favorite songs. You can also block out noise when studying at the library as we all know how loud it can become late at night. Some great pairs are the Audio Technica ATH-M50x and the V-MODA crossfade both of which can be found on amazon for great prices.

A Portable charger - We have all been caught in the situation where it is not even half way through the day and yet our phone is about to die. From communicating to surfing the web, our phones have become an essential daily part of our lives. Tablets have also surfaced a common technology of today as rather than lugging around a heavy laptop to class, students are able to carry a light, thin, and portable tablet. With a portable charger you can charger both of these at any time of the day and just throw it into your backpack when you’re not using it. You can find one that is around 10,000 mAh for around 20 bucks on Newegg which is enough to charge both your phone and tablet.

Water Bottle – Being healthy on campus is definitely a struggle. With all the juice and soda options everywhere it is impossible to not crave the delicious drink. Buying a strong and big water will be a great investment. We all know we get that craving to drink something right as we walk into a class but feel obligated to stay and not walk out. With your water bottle you will never feel thirsty and with refill stations all around campus, your bottle will never be empty. This will also help you cut down on drinking those sugary filled drinks and get the recommended amount of water daily.

Backpack – When living either on or off campus you want to make sure you have everything for the day as we all know how much of a drag it can be to go all the way back to our rooms just to get one small thing. Making sure you have room is a big part of being able to carry everything you need. Also, we want to make sure all of our valuables such as our tablets or computers are protected as they are basically our lifeline to doing well in school. Making an investment on a cushioned, big, and protective backpack is well worth it. Over the next 4 years, you will be able to carry all of your belongings in a safe manner without killing your back.

girl with a hat

This is for the girls who have dealt with an emotionally, mentally, physically or verbally abusive father.

The ones who have grown up with a false lens of what love is and how relationships should be. The ones who have cried themselves to sleep wondering why he hurts you and your family so much. This is for all the girls who fall in love with broken boys that carry baggage bigger than their own, thinking it's their job to heal them because you watched your mother do the same.

Blair Waldorf Quote
"DESTINY IS FOR LOSERS. IT'S JUST A STUPID EXCUSE TO WAIT FOR THINGS TO HAPPEN INSTEAD OF MAKING THEM HAPPEN." - BLAIR WALDORF.

The world stopped in 2012 when our beloved show "Gossip Girl" ended. For six straight years, we would all tune in every Monday at 9:00 p.m. to see Upper Eastside royalty in the form of a Burberry headband clad Blair Waldorf. Blair was the big sister that we all loved to hate. How could we ever forget the epic showdowns between her and her frenemy Serena Van Der Woodsen? Or the time she banished Georgina Sparks to a Christian summer camp? How about that time when she and her girls took down Bart Bass? Blair is life. She's taught us how to dress, how to be ambitious, and most importantly, how to throw the perfect shade.

You're moving your stuff onto your floor, and you will encounter people you don't know yet in the hallway. They live on your floor, so you'll awkwardly smile and maybe introduce yourself. As you walk away, you will wonder if they will ever speak to you again, but don't worry, there's a good chance that you will make some great friends on your floor!

Recently I completed my freshman year of college, and boy, what an experience. It was a completely new learning environment and I can't believe how much I learned. In an effort to save time, here are the ten biggest lessons I learned from my first year of college.

1. Everyone is in the same boat

For me, the scariest part of starting school was that I was alone, that I wouldn't be able to make any friends and that I would stick out. Despite being told time and time again that everyone had these same feelings, it didn't really click until the first day when I saw all the other freshman looking as uneasy and uncomfortable as me. Therefore, I cannot stress this enough, everyone is feeling as nervous as you.
