Honestly, I've never liked people before. To me, too many people = too much drama. Which I don't need any more of. However, with my new "adulting" life, I find myself dealing with people of all kinds:
Men and women whose behavior resemble that of toddlers. No kidding. It's as if they have adolescent attitudes, moods, actions and mentality all wrapped up in grown up bodies. I work in a high school where certain teachers, students, AND parents exhibit the same behavior.
Now, I have a calm and sweet way about myself.
But, good Lord, some people leave me scratching my head as to how to respond to them. I've had my fair share of reacting to how folks come at me but I am honing the art of responding to them. That is, accurately using my words to express my feelings in a way that wins the listener not lose them; a great truth I've learned at bible study with The City Church.
Dealing with difficult folk can be draining and discouraging. However, some of these "difficult folk" are really just ignorant; oblivious to me and my feelings. Which doesn't call for an ugly response but a moment of education?
I've learned that being introduced to a plethora of people reflects the uniqueness and image of God himself. Whether good or bad God created them; male and female he created them.
With that being said, I look at every person as one of God's incredible, intricate, indescribable, and invaluable creations.
Whether they're difficult to deal with or not.
