A short introduction of me!

Hello! My name is Sophie Gordon and I'm coming back to write for Odyssey again. I was writing for the Odyssey last spring and decided to take a break over the summer and fall term. I would like to re-introduce myself, so you know who you're reading from.

I'm a sophomore at Southern Oregon University in Ashland, Oregon and I am an Emerging Media and Digital Art major. I want to (hopefully) get a job in the video game industry as either a writer or a designer. As you can assume I am a giant nerd. I enjoy things such as Star Trek, gaming, Sherlock, Stephen King and much more. I spend most of my time watching Netflix, doing school work or gaming. I'm an extrovert at times but I love being lazy. I have a deep love for cats and all animals. Being from Washington I also have an obsession with coffee and tea, so if you ever spot me in the morning I'm bound to have a hot drink in my hands. I enjoy writing and hope that my articles will be fun to read. The Odyssey is such a cool organization to be a part of, and I'm looking forward to writing!

I thought senioritis in high school was rough until I became a college senior about to go into the real world. I'm supposed to have everything figured out, right? It takes a little while to get used to not seeing your high school best friends every day. Going away to college causes a lot of changes, but one thing that will never change is my love for my high school BFFs, and the texts that I get from them. College is filled with many things, and we're so often lectured to make the right decisions as we head out on our own into the college life. But sometimes it's necessary to indulge in some guilty pleasures as well as just doing things because you can. And honestly, a lot of the time it's inevitable. College is no piece of cake that's for sure, so it's okay to do some things you deep down know you shouldn't....once in a while anyways.
