Innovation in the community is changing our lives and how we live on a daily basis. Now the reality of self-driving vehicles and autopilot is something which many automotive companies and others are envisioning for the future. Just imagine finally being able to text and drive, but it's not really you driving.

The reality of this feature in vehicles is approaching faster than many people think, as it has already been tested by Uber in Los Angeles and has even been out on the road in Arizona and among other states.

Self-driving cars are more than just a measure of innovation. These new machines will change our lives in many ways, both good and bad. While Autopilot mode offers the opportunity to relax and stray from putting in labor, it also decreases potential in humans to learn something new such as having the privilege of driving. Another potential side is that any malfunctions of the operating system could result in horrific accidents, and a recall of these vehicles results in money and lives lost. Self-driving cars would also result in numerous job losses.

Autopilot definitely offers an innovative approach and while it has its cons, every innovation does come with its flip side. The one-time payment of these cars would save hundreds of thousands of dollars on a yearly basis. The flawless programming in these machines also ensures safer environments to drive around. Drunk driving could also be eliminated with he use of these cars, as the person under influence could still get home, but wouldn't be a harm under influence since he/she isn't driving.

I personally think self-driving cars are amazing, but they are also something which I am not eager to approach for several reasons. The fact that expenses will decrease is a major thumbs up along with points such as safety in driving. For example, Elon Musk of Tesla announced self driving hardware for cars is coming soon. The safety features which allow the car to drive are exceptional and aren't variable like many different types of drivers also. Many sensors around the car allow it to steer away from any potential risks like accidents. The only thing I fear is that with advanced technology comes the dark side: hackers. The cars whole system is linked with Wi-Fi and is proven to be accessed virtually. This risk could also lead to dangers such as robbery and purposeful accidents.

This technology is approaching us fast, but are we going to be ready to adapt to the changes with it? How we change with this improvement will define how well it transitions into our society. As seen with Uber and Tesla, these cars are already on the move and may one day come across your path. Lets see how innovative our society can be with these cars on the road in the next decade.

10 Signs You Work In A Restaurant

There's always chaos in the restaurant business.

10 Signs You Work In A Restaurant
Brisanis

Working in the restaurant industry is possibly the most fundamentally challenging occupation I have ever experienced when it comes to hospitality and customer service. When you go to a five-star restaurant you expect the time of your life, a two hour getaway, a walk through another time period (rustic Italy, France, Spain, etc), or simply a honeymoon undergo. What you don't see are the behind the scenes scut work: carrying trays, polishing glassware and silverware, kitchen chaos, the list is endless. Now, I'm not saying being a host, server, or bartender is the worst thing in the whole wide world, there are definitely worse things. But the fact of the matter is that it isn't always sunshine and rainbows. In the two years that I have spent in restaurant and customer service, I have spoken my share of expletives, yelled at kitchen staff, and dealt with not-so-happy guests. It isn't easy to keep a bright and shiny smile on your face when all you want to do is choke every person who walks near you. Anyone who has spent even two weeks working in a restaurant understands the rigor and stress that comes with it. Restaurant culture is a tiny world in and of itself that operates on its own principles and creates its own society. It even has its own language. The sayings "runner", "corner", and "on a bus" wouldn't make sense to anyone otherwise. My mother and I both work in a restaurant and the best advice I can give someone going out to eat is to treat us like people. Yes...believe it or not we are people, people. Say "please" and "thank you", or stack your cleared plates before a busser gets to the table. Trust me, the gesture goes a lot farther than you may think.

So, if you work in a restaurant, you can relate with the following points. If not, check out how the brain of a restaurant service (or any customer service) worker actually works. See if you can identify any crazy weird habits your friends have a tendency to partake in.

One of the scariest things we will ever face in our life is going to college. Many of us move away to a new town, join new organizations, and make new friends. We are expected to study, have a social life, relationships, maybe work, and be healthy. It seems pretty easy to do, and in high school all we wanted to do was graduate and move on to this next chapter of our lives. If you are in high school, here are some things that you can learn from before you get to college. If you have already been through your freshman year of college, hopefully you can relate to the things I have learned in college.
