Campus Barbie, or Barb, as I now call her, took Instagram by storm last week proving that life in plastic is, wait for it, fantastic. The fashion icon landed in the heart of North Carolina with college on her mind.
When the time came to pick a place to land, ECU was the first thought. The selfie queen has already made her mark with over 1,000 followers on her Instagram account after one week.
I was lucky enough to catch up with Barb and find out how her college experience is going so far, in addition to her rising stardom.
Q: What's your fav part of college?
A: So far, my favorite part of college is meeting new friends and visiting old ones! One of my favorite ways to get involved and meet new people is to go to different club meetings. Well, actually only the meetings that have free food.
Q: What's your style?
A: In the words of the late Coco Chanel, "a girl should be two things: classy and fabulous."
Q: Where is your favorite spot on ECU's campus?
A: So far, I would have to say my go-to place on campus is Starbucks (Wright), hands down. If you don't pay $6 for a cup of coffee, you might as well not drink it at all. My least favorite spot has got to be the library... has anyone ever thought about decorating in there? I mean, the only people in there with smiles on their face have Starbucks in their hands.
Q: What's your favorite cocktail?
A: Whatever is in my glass! But no Sunday brunch with the girls is complete without gossip and mimosas.
Q: What does the future hold for campus Barbie?
A: Still searching for Ken, or queso, whichever comes first.
Q: What has been your most embarrassing moment since getting to college?
A: You will totally not believe this: one time as I was walking through campus I came across some really great selfie lighting. As I was holding up my phone to get the right angle, someone on a bike bumped into me and my arm popped off!!!! Like, how rude is that?? And to make things worse, this really hot Ken picked it up!!
Q: What do you want people to take away from your account?
A: I want my followers to feel like they are with me wherever I go! But I also want them to realize how awesome I am. Hopefully, my pictures are inspiring to those who really need some beauty in their lives. It's not easy being me, but it's definitely worth it.
Q: Will you be visiting friends at other universities?
A: Did someone say road trip?!? I can't wait to be with my friends who live in other cities like Raleigh, Chapel Hill, and Wilmington! I'm even going out of NC a couple times! I'm not sure why my friends thought they could live so far away from me—I mean, who wouldn't want to hang out with me all the time?
