Having an internship while you’re on summer vacation or in college is very important. I am fortunate enough to have obtained an internship for the summer. I am learning more than I thought I ever would. It is more than just a summer job. It is teaching so much about the real world and what life will be like upon our graduation. I believe that if you get a chance, you should do everything in your power to get an internship because it is a fantastic experience.

I was unsure what to expect going into the summer with this new job. I knew it would be hard work because I was unfamiliar with everything going on. But every day I show up to work, I learn more. I am taking advantage of my experience and trying to soak up as much knowledge as I am able to during the few short months of summer. I am going to school to study business management, and I was able to land a job in the business world. I love everything about going to work because it is teaching me what it is like in that field of study.

I am learning that there is so much that goes into a business. There are so many things that go into companies that people do not even realize. Companies have so many departments that are all working together to make the business thrive as a whole. I am fascinated by all the things that are so crucial to a business.

This internship has taught me a strong work ethic. You want to do the best you can on any given job because you are trying to prove yourself. You want to make your boss happy that they have given you this opportunity. Being an intern puts you at the bottom of the ladder. You try your best to impress anyone in the company regardless of who they are because you never know what could happen.

Being an intern is exciting because you get to work with people born in several different generations. You get to experience what it is like to work with the generational gap. Different generations work differently from one another. They all work together in the company, but the way they go about their projects and work differs from other age groups. It is a very neat thing to see. You learn how to work with several different ages which will better you for your future job.

Obtaining an internship is fantastic if you are willing to give it all you have. Whatever your major happens to be, you should try to find something that relates to it. This will give you an idea of what it is like to work in that field of study. You will not just learn about that topic, but you will learn all the types of people working in it too. You will see the different paths that all lead them there. It is extremely exciting to be a part of, and I highly recommend that you try your best to receive an internship before you graduate college.
