Internet Friendships: California To Alabama (A Dedication To Katelynn)
Tyra Grayson

The Internet can be a dangerous place, a place where you could get in trouble, and things happen that you never thought would happen. But the Internet can also be put to good use, to gain promotion, to connect with others and make friendships. I've made some unforgettable amount of friendships over social media that I will cherish for the rest of my life. There are so many of you. There will be a part 2 of this article that goes more in depth with more of my internet friends and why it's all so important to me, but I wanted to dedicate part 1 to someone who's only been in my life a year, going on two and has been close to my heart, especially recently with current events going on in my life.

I met Katelynn in 2015, in a group chat I'm in on Twitter called "#SQUAD." Everyone in that group chat has known each other for a good amount of months/years and me and Katelynn started talking separately, as if I would anyone else if I want to get to know them more. I found out that she was so caring, sweet, down to earth and so funny. Everyone is different, and there was something about her that stuck out to me, and was more different than anyone else. Every single one of my internet friends has something about them that's different and that I like about them that no one else has, that's why we are all made differently and unique right? This world would be lame if we were all the same.

I saw her on my timeline, and eventually followed her but never thought we'd be put in the same group chat together. I started learning more about her, like her taste in music, her family, her background, etc; and I saw one thing in her that I don't see in many in real life friends....LOYALTY. Katelynn is the most loyal girl I have ever seen. I slowly started opening up to her about my problems if something was wrong. She understood me, helped me, and supported me along the way and still does up to this day.

She's like my little sister and I'm the older, protective one. I'm saving up money to finally go visit her. Katelynn has been there in times where I had nobody and it came down to her just talking to me. She's been there at late times of the night when I need her or I am having anxiety, and I'm always there for her as well in similar situations. I feel like I can tell her anything because she's not judgemental, she's an accepting friend, and so understanding. It's like we can relate on a more emotional and spiritual level. When she's upset, I try to help her or give her space to think, as she does me.

Katelynn also re introduced me to a band called "Twenty One Pilots" and it's changed my life for the better. I was really depressed one night and she sent me their song called "Truce" and from that moment on, I've been obsessed. Katelynn, I may say this a lot, but I just wanna say I'm so proud of you and what you are becoming and how strong you are. You've taught me to keep going regardless of what's in my way and when things seem like they are about to come to an end for me, it's not, and you are always there. Keep being strong and just know I will always be here know matter what. Katelynn and I have only had one disagreement out of the whole time we've been friends and I can't say that for everybody.

People think internet friends are stupid, but it's such a beautiful thing, especially when the time comes for you two to meet. Whether you're very far, a few hours, or right across the street from each other, if you met over the Internet and have the chance to create something beautiful and long lasting in person, that's amazing. Still do be careful about who you meet over the Internet cause everyone isn't who they say they are or can stab you in the back and I've had it happen. Katelynn is at least 28 hours away from me, but when we talk, it feels like she's right beside me and I can't thank her enough for dealing with my dumbness, my rants, and all my problems.

Remember to be positive, smile more, laugh more, live your life to the fullest and most importantly, stay alive. I love you so much best friend, little sister, and my partner in crime and I can't wait to finally meet you and spend a whole week with you, and watch movies late at night, sight see, go out to eat, shop, take long drives, laugh, and be happy. You're such an amazing person and thank you so much for everything you do for me, I couldn't be more grateful for your friendship and acceptance. I love our inside jokes and our dark humor and insults to each other. It never fails to make me smile and laugh. Blood couldn't make us any closer than we are now, that's how beautiful this friendship is. Again, I love you. See you soon.♥️

Katelynn, if you ever feel down, read this article or listen to the TØP songs that mean the most to you.

Stay tuned for part 2 as I go more in depth about the importance of Internet friendships and talk about some of the people I've met in music fanbases and the television fanbase of "Supernatural". I love all my internet friends so much, thank you guys for everything you do and being a major part of my life and I will cherish you guys and every memory forever.

6 Unrealistic Expectations Society Has For Young Adults

Don't let the thesaurus-inspired vocabularies in our résumés fool you. We're actually just big kids.

Well over four feet tall and 100 pounds in weight, many of us "young adults" of the world still consider ourselves children. Big, working, college-attending, beer-drinking children. We may live on our own, know how to cook noodles, and occasionally use a planner, but don't be fooled; the youthful tendencies that reside within us still make their way into our daily lives. From choosing to stay up until 3:00 a.m. playing video games on a school night to going out in 30 degree weather without a coat, we still make decisions that our parents and grandparents would shake their heads at in disappointment. So why are we expected to know exactly how to be a wise, professional, sensible adult? It's not that we're irresponsible (for the most part, anyway). It's that we are young, inexperienced, and still have the sought-after, enthusiastic mentality that we can do and be whatever we want, which has not yet been tarnished by the reality of the world. These are just a few of the unrealistic expectations that society has for young adults.

Fandango

There are a lot of foods in this world, but there is only one dish that stands above the rest: Pizza. If you're close to me or at least know who I am, then you know that I'm totally obsessed with pizza. It's one of my favorite things to eat and I will NEVER turn down a slice, even if it doesn't have my favorite toppings. There isn't a day that goes by where I'm not thinking about pizza. I even sleep with a pizza pillow every night! There are many reasons why pizza stands above all other foods, and here are just a couple reasons why.
