After his inauguration, news of the 45th President of the United States, Donald J. Trump, has flooded global media. His actions so far are not only controversial to Americans, but to foreign nations as well (the United States is, after all, an international super power).
Although coverage of his decisions can be intense, there is a lighter side to the situation; a perspective that isn't only utilized by the American public, but also by those overseas overlooking the activity in the United States: comic relief.
In such a highly stressful period of time, people all around the world have been contributing to the rising utilization of comedy when facing the tensions within the U.S. A Swiss spoof video, for example, takes a sarcastic perspective on the U.S President, and has met a surprising amount of international attention since it's release. As well as the video, the Swedish deputy PM and climate minister Isabella Lovin posted a photo on Facebook said to be in mockery of a popular Trump photof at only stars men. In contrast, Lovin's photo included only women.
As Sweden's climate minister, Lovin is highly concerned with President Trump's opinion on climate change, stating during the signing of a new climate law that, when it comes to climate change, "the U.S is not there anymore to lead".
Along with a superb amount of memes and satirical spoof videos, people across the world are offering an outlet for those troubled by recent events. With all the uncertainty and anxiety looming over the public, a little laugh is something well deserved.
