Instagram's Best: Studying Abroad

Seeing the world just got a whole lot sicker.

Instagram's Best: Studying Abroad

We all see it. We all follow it. And we all wish we could taste, smell and feel it for ourselves. But through Instagram filters and backdrops, the worlds of London, Seville, Barcelona, Florence, Amsterdam, Rome and Sydney are practically at our fingertips. That is the beauty of being in our generation. We feel the need to share our lives on social media, but in turn, we all prosper from the beauty of abroadstagrams.

It's amazing. I am sitting buried knee deep in the snow in State College, bored of the same grey scenery and bland dining hall food, but in one swift move of opening up my Instagram, I see fresh Italian gelato and pizza, the sights of Seville, and can (almost) feel the warmth of the sun in the south of France. So while I am salivating and raging in jealousy of my GBig and her junior friends, I am vicariously living through their adventures overseas.

Here is a look at how some college students get to spend the sickest semester of their lives -- abroad. As someone who is freezing in the middle of the tundra and only has pictures of snow and mediocre brunches to display -- trust me, I’d rather be there, too.

It's officially December. There is less than a month of 2024, and I still feel like yesterday was summer. Now comes the merriest time of the year, the Christmas season.

Everyone has been waiting for this time of year since mid-October (which is way too early, in my opinion) or before. It's a time of love, family, memory-making, and gift-giving. A lot of times when I ask friends and family what they want, I get a lot of "I don't know" or "I don't care."
