Although life and school can be hectic and overwhelming, we often take for granted the true beauty of education and the knowledge that we acquire every day. When the weight of exams and projects seems astoundingly heavy, stop to remember that all the work that you are doing is shaping you into the professional you dream to be.

I have found that the more one says “I can’t”, the less motivation they have to carry out a task and will most likely end up avoiding it altogether. Believing something is possible (even when it seems impossible) is the first step in achieving the unthinkable. After eliminating the word “can’t” from your vocabulary, you will find those seemingly insurmountable barriers have been broken down.

The most inspiring, successful people are the ones that look toward the future and are able to grapple with the negative aspects of daily life while keeping their thoughts rooted in optimism. It takes strength to act optimistically, let alone think positively. However, you may find that the effort put into being optimistic in times of trouble will maximize your long-term benefits!

When you decide to quit, there is a little negative voice inside you telling you that you can’t do something. I have done this myself, whether it is due to a lack of motivation or a belief that I cannot perform my best on something. I have regretted quitting each time. Each time you feel you want to quit, reassure yourself that the most rewarding outcomes are produced through adversity.

It seems that perfection is constantly demanded of us, whether it be in school, work, or life in general. This constant barrage of unattainable standards causes us to become disillusioned that nothing we ever do can or will be good enough. Two pieces of critical advice come from this quote. First of all, we must realize that there is no such thing as perfection, no matter how close it is to what we perceive as “perfect.” That is not to say that perfection isn't a good thing to aspire to; through working to be "perfect, we are able to attain excellence.

I’ve seen it: the vivacious, beaming smile that illuminates someone’s face after they’ve achieved something. I’ve also noticed that those kind of smiles are even brighter when they are shining through the sweat and tears of the adversity that they had to overcome to achieve the victory. The euphoria associated with the outcome is that much more powerful when it has been achieved by traversing obstacles.
