The Inspiration Cycle

Don't doubt the power of the ripple effect.

Inspiration, by definition, means "the process of being mentally stimulated to do or feel something, especially to do something creative." So, to be an inspiration in someone's life means that you are stimulating them "to do or feel something" creative. Everyone who has done something great has been inspired by someone or something.

The founder of TOMS, Blake Mycoskie's, inspiration was a group of volunteers.

While I was on vacation in Argentina in 2006, I met volunteer workers helping children get shoes by going around collecting donations. It was very obvious to me that these children needed shoes to go to school and to protect their feet, but I wanted to make sure the kids were going to get another pair of shoes when those shoes wore out, when they grew out of them. And so, I thought, if I can start a business that can sustain the giving, then I can feel comfortable that these kids will get the shoes that they need, over and over again.

The founder of SBSK (Special Books by Special Kids), Chris Ulmer was inspired by his students in the classroom, and the special needs community. The history of SBSK is below.

Founder and teacher, Chris Ulmer, began Special Books by Special Kids (SBSK) with the desire to share the unique talents and incredible personalities of the students in his special education classroom with others. He feared the isolation the neurodiverse community often faces would limit his student’s ability to meet their full potential and positively impact society. Without the backing of a publisher, what started as an idea for a book series became a multi-media movement. Ulmer, lovingly referred to as Mr. Chris, and Executive Director, Alyssa Porter, have dedicated their lives to this important work.

Jon Jorgenson, a youtuber, refers to the start of his channel as an accident rather than inspiration. This accident started a ripple effect of inspiration through his spoken words, short sermon videos, and with putting his life out there for people to watch.

I used to work at a summer camp where I would prepare short devotional talks for the students. After my final summer working at that camp, I decided I would take some of my talks and put them online. This way, the students could watch them, sort of take the lessons home. To my surprise, not only did the students watch them, but so did a lot of other people. So i decided to keep making videos. - (http://www.jonjorgensonblog.com)

My last example is Hannah Coleman from the Dainty Bouquet. Hannah is new to the blogging world, but that does not stop her from continuously being inspired, and inspiring others.

Believe it or not, my inspiration for what I do doesn’t necessarily come from someone famous or really a specific individual at all, but rather my friends and family. They are a huge reason why I do what I do. Their encouragement and support means literally everything to me. However, I am always inspired by my fellow fashion bloggers to continue to produce quality content and share from my heart.

I too was inspired. I have always wanted to be an elementary teacher, and I have known this for awhile. I never really understood the significance of teaching until I got to high school. It was there that I had experienced the desire to teach through multiple teachers. It was also in high school that I became interested in special education, and I had the opportunity to work with a teacher who was solely focused on his students.

These teachers were inspired to teach, and their inspiration transferred to me, and I can only hope that in my future years of teaching, that I too can inspire at least one of my students.

If you are inspired to do something, do it, because your actions do cause a ripple, and you could lead to inspiring someone else, and so on.

27 Things 'The Office' Has Taught Us

"The Office" is a mockumentary based on everyday office life featuring love triangles, silly pranks and everything in between. It can get pretty crazy for just an average day at the office.

When you were little, your parents probably told you television makes your brain rot so you wouldn't watch it for twelve straight hours. However, I feel we can learn some pretty valuable stuff from television shows. "The Office," while a comedy, has some pretty teachable moments thrown in there. You may not know how to react in a situation where a co-worker does something crazy (like put your office supplies in jello) but thanks to "The Office," now you'll have an idea how to behave ifsomething like that should happen.

Here are just a few of the things that religious Office watchers can expect to learn.

High School And College Sucked All Of The Fun Out Of Reading

Books were always about understanding for me, about learning the way someone else sees, about connection.

High School And College Sucked All Of The Fun Out Of Reading

I keep making this joke whenever the idea of books is brought up: "God, I wish I knew how to read." It runs parallel to another stupid phrase, as I watch my friends struggle through their calculus classes late at night in our floor lounge: "I hope this is the year that I learn to count." They're both truly idiotic expressions, but, when I consider the former, I sometimes wonder if there's some truth to it.
