I recently watched Pixar's "Inside Out" with my boyfriend, and it was really good. It has been out for a while, so many people have already watched it. But if you haven't, you should and here's why:
1. It's relatable
We all have emotions. Sometimes we are filled with joy, other times with anger, fear, disgust, and maybe even sadness. Do these sound familiar? It's only the names of all the main characters from the movie. So you already have something in common with all of these characters.
2. I felt like I too had little people inside of my head
I took a shower after watching this movie, and instead of replaying conversations with people in my head, I was thinking, what if there were people in my head? What if they are there and they are just invisible? The movie must have been good if it made my think about that.
3. It shows the importance of balancing emotions
We all have many different emotions. We can feel joy, fear, anger, disgust, and even sadness. And guess what? These emotions are the names of all of the characters from the movie. So if you have ever felt any of these emotions, you are in luck, because you already have something in common with five characters in the movie.
4. It tells us it's okay to be sad
While this does kind of go along with the last point, this one is really important. The movie lets us know that sometimes we are sad, and that's okay. We all get sad.
5. It made me cry
Seeing a little girl be so sad makes me sad. And this movie tells me it's okay to be sad, so I just had to feel it. I felt so attached to the characters while watching the movie, so when anything bad happened to them or they got sad, that made me sad. The movie is about emotions so I supposed that is expected, but it still made me tear up. Any movie that makes you cry without someone dying is a good movie.
6. It made me think about what makes up who I am
The Islands of Personality from the movie were really interesting. Turning everything in your mind into something so real in this movie was cool to see. I started thinking, what are my islands? What makes up who I am? These islands are a great example of how the things you do and who you surround yourself with can really affect your personality.
