Its real, its raw, its funny AF, Insecure is a show that will have you dying of laughter and catching real-life moments most late 20-year-olds experience in life. For those who have never heard of the HBO show Insecure, the show centers around the life of Issa Dee, a young Black woman who struggles to navigate her professional and romantic life. Issa is from Inglewood, California who struggles to fit in at work by being the only Black person in a white-dominated non-profit organization that helps inner-city students in Los Angeles with their education. At work Issa experiences microaggression from her colleagues where she keeps from lashing out at them by talking to herself in the mirror which are the best scenes in the show! Issa confronts herself in the mirror by talking to herself or at time rap to pump herself up just like us when we are alone in the bathroom which is HELLA hilarious in the show! Take a look:

1. "I don't make love, I fuck"

2. "Do you want your man or nah?"

Some mirror scenes in the show tie in with her love life which is complicated throughout the series. Without giving much of the show and her relationship status all I can say is that Issa is a savage! Her love life consists of a long-time relationship, cheating, friends with benefits, and broken hearts. For those who watch the show people are either team Lawrence (that's me!) or team Daniel. Personally, Issa's love life is one of the reasons why I get eager for the next episodes throughout the series. You never know what is going to happen with the men in Issa's life since she is going through her "Hoe" phase. Besides her professional and romantic life friendship is also a theme in the show. Molly Carter is Issa's best friend and for those who women who have a best friend for friends you know how real and funny talks can get when you hit your twenties.

3. Please prepare yourself for the epic season 3

Overall this show is fantastic, people within their 20's through 30's can relate to this show regarding any gender. The show is filmed in Los Angeles specifically around Inglewood, Baldwin Hills, Mid-City, Santa Monica, and Malibu. The show also exhibits great music from artists such as Miguel, SZA, GoldLink, and Frank Ocean. This comedy-drama is too good to miss, it has been nominated for two Emmys this year just to show how great the show is. You will find yourself laughing out loud and binge-watching seasons 1 and 2 once you start the pilot episode, but don't worry because season 3 comes right your way on Sunday, August 12th on HBO!

As college students, we are all familiar with the horror show that is course registration week. Whether you are an incoming freshman or selecting classes for your last semester, I am certain that you can relate to how traumatic this can be.

1. When course schedules are released and you have a conflict between two required classes.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
