Every year at the end of the school year, it seems like that is when everyone seems to be hit hard with the past. Not that it is ever a bad thing, unless you are living in it. I do it just as much as anyone else, depending on the situation, sometimes more. Earlier this week I rediscovered my old iPod from high school and it definitely hit home.
That night, my sister and I just played the songs one after the other, after the other around a bonfire with more wine than there should have been. I know that we all have memories that are very important to us and things we have a hard time letting go of, but some of the songs that played brought back some memories that I did not even remember I had. It was an emotional roller coaster for sure and it was very enjoyable.
Sometimes it is necessary for things like that to happen. It really puts into perspective how much your life has changed in so little time and you do not even realize it. The old, but famous quote from Ferris Bueller is extremely relatable in this situation:
"Life moves pretty fast. If you don't stop and look around for a while, you could miss it."
