While the rest of her family continue to make questionable statements about various topics including Amber Rose, becoming a woman, and Yeezy, Kendall Jenner slays in her recent statement regarding tattoos:
"I have a really weird thing about 'forever.' And my sister Kim always said, 'Don't put a bumper sticker on a Bentley."
1. Of course Kim said that...
2. ...I completely agree.
It seems that in today's constant magnifying glass media puts on our society and generation as a whole, we feel more pressure to be viewed a certain way. In the age of 6 second videos and 140 characters, why has the norm become to slap a tattoo on your ribcage for the rest of your life?
Personally, I've never been a fan of the "I'll never regret this" lifestyle. This may stem from the fear of God in me (placed there by who other than my mother) that if I ever got a tattoo I would be disowned- a permanence scarier and more painful than any silly ink on my body. But I learned over the years that I would never want to have a tattoo. Along with the fact that I change my mind more often than I change my shoes, I don't think I'd be down to endure the judgment and questions that go along with the tattoo. While I don't typically tend to judge someone's tattoos at first sight, although it is hard to ignore some of them at times, there are many people that absolutely abhor them, and you can't deny that it can damage the image you want to represent to the world.
I appreciate those who stand up for their tattoos as well as the significance it possesses to its owner, and I'll even entertain the notion that I often find myself becoming interested in some tattoos once I learn its implication.
Simply put, I'm not a fan. There are better manners in which you can personify yourself, and I would rather keep my Bentley bumper sticker free.
