Are You An Indigo Child?
Mindopenerz

Indigo children, according to a pseudo-scientific New Age concept, are children with who are believed to possess special, unusual and sometimes supernatural traits or abilities, according to Wikipedia. The Spiritual Growth Prophecies website states, "Nancy Ann Tappe, a teacher and counselor, studied the human auric field, otherwise known as their electromagnetic field." The field surrounds every living thing. She even wrote a book about it called "Understanding Your Life Through Color."

Through colors in the aura, she instituted a shockingly accurate and revealing way to psychologically profile a person using her new auric method. The signs of an indigo child actually began even as early as the 1950s with a few people. What she noticed was that 80 percent of the children born after 1980 had a new deep blue colored auric field—she called this new color "indigo."

So in theory, an indigo child is somebody that carries a different energy field than the average person and have some extraordinary traits. Spiritual Growth Prophecies says that "Indigo children typically carry these specific characteristics: They are born feeling and knowing they are special and should be revered." An indigo knows they belong here as they are and expect you to realize it as well. These children are confident and have a higher sense of self-worth. Absolute authority, the kind with no choices, negotiation or input from them does not sit well. The fulfillment of their personal needs is important to them, and they will let you know. They are often insightful and often have a better idea of method than what has been in place for years. This makes them seem like 'system busters'."

Based on this list, it will certainly seem like anybody could be an indigo child. Personally, I think ideas like these are promoted to encourage a sense of higher calling and purpose in the human experience.

I definitely do believe that some people are destined for different journeys than others and can relate to the theory of indigo children on that level. The website continues to state, "Indigo children are strong willed and born in 1978 or later." They tend to be headstrong, creative and prone to addictions. They are independent and proud, even if they're constantly asking you for money. They are prone to insomnia, restless sleep, nightmares and have a fear of falling asleep. They look for real, deep and lasting friendships. They waver between low self-esteem and grandiosity. "The indigos are believed to be a chosen few that will alter the values that we currently live under. Indigos have a job to do on this planet, and they will do it. The indigo child is here to bring us closer to our true essence."

Are you an indigo child? If you are, then claim your destiny.

Bob's Burgers
Adult Swim

Bob's Burgers is arguably one of the best and most well-written shows on tv today. That, and it's just plain hilarious. From Louise's crazy antics to Tina's deadpan self-confidence, whether they are planning ways to take over school or craft better burgers, the Belchers know how to have fun. They may not be anywhere close to organized or put together, but they do offer up some wise words once and awhile.

We're in college, none of us actually have anything together. In fact, not having anything together is one of our biggest stressors. However, there's a few little things that we do ever so often that actually make us feel like we have our lives together.

1. Making yourself dinner

And no this does not include ramen or Annie's Mac & Cheese. Making a decent meal for yourself is one of the most adult things you can do living on campus. And the food is much better than it would be at the dining hall.

I think the hardest thing about going away to college is figuring out how to become an adult. Leaving a household where your parents took care of literally everything (thanks, Mom!) and suddenly becoming your own boss is overwhelming. I feel like I'm doing a pretty good job of being a grown-up, but once in awhile I do something that really makes me feel like I'm #adulting. Twenty-somethings know what I'm talking about.

I went to a small high school, like 120-people-in-my-graduating-class small. It definitely had some good and some bad, and if you also went to a small high school, I’m sure you’ll relate to the things that I went through.

1. If something happens, everyone knows about it

Who hooked up with whom at the party? Yeah, heard about that an hour after it happened. You failed a test? Sorry, saw on Twitter last period. Facebook fight or, God forbid, real fight? It was on half the class’ Snapchat story half an hour ago. No matter what you do, someone will know about it.

Chandler Bing

I'm assuming that we've all heard of the hit 90's TV series, Friends, right? Who hasn't? Admittedly, I had pretty low expectations when I first started binge watching the show on Netflix, but I quickly became addicted.

Without a doubt, Chandler Bing is the most relatable character, and there isn't an episode where I don't find myself thinking, Yup, Iam definitely the Chandler of my friend group.
