There is always a constant search for the old iPhone 4 charger. I do not know too many people left in this world who still own an iPhone 4 or 4S, but if you do, then you probably understand the constant struggle I face when it comes to finding a friend who has the same iPhone charger.
For starters, Apple decided to do this ingenious thing where they changed the hole on the phone that the charger plugs into. Therefore, the chargers for the iPhone 4 and 4S are the same, but they are completely different from the iPhone 5, 5S, 6 and 6 Plus chargers. This presents a bit of an issue for those of us who are still iPhone 4 or 4S owners. The constant hunt for the right charger is real, people.
I know what it is like to sleep over at a friend's house, ride in a friend's car or even study with a friend at Starbucks and not have my phone charger with me. For some, it can be a little awkward asking your friends to borrow their phone chargers, because if they only have a charger for the iPhone 5, then you have to admit that you still have the iPhone 4. I know that sounds like a serious first-world problem, but most of our generation always has to have the latest technology. When you are the odd one out, it can get a little embarrassing.
I always need to have my charger on hand to avoid having an awkward conversation with a friend that involves me asking to borrow his or her phone charger that won't fit my phone. After all, the chances of someone else having an iPhone 4 are usually slim to none. But when he or she does happen to share my struggle, and have an iPhone 4 charger that I can borrow, it is like finding gold in a gold mine.
My recommendation to all of you who have the latest iPhone models is to keep that old iPhone charger that you no longer need laying around. You never know when someone like me will come around and actually need to use it.
