Our Childhood Has Finally Been Revived With The Incredibles 2 Movie

November 5th, 2004. Fourteen long years ago The Incredibles came out. The movie was a hit bringing in over 630 Million dollars into the box office. However, the end of the movie left the crowd wondering: What is next?

Well after fourteen years the sequel to this incredible movie came out. As of June 20th, 2018 Incredibles 2 already had over 253 Million dollars made. This is less than a week after the movie was first shown in theaters. It will soon surpass the original movie maybe even sooner than we think. Incredibles 2 follows the original cast with some new heroes and a new villain. As well as a whole different plotline from the original.

A recap on the original plot line was:

"Bob Parr (A.K.A. Mr. Incredible), and his wife Helen (A.K.A. Elastigirl), are the world's greatest famous crime-fighting superheroes in Metroville. Always saving lives and battling evil on a daily basis. But fifteen years later, they have been forced to adopt civilian identities and retreat to the suburbs where they have no choice but to retire as superheroes to live a "normal life" with their three children Violet, Dash and Jack-Jack (who were secretly born with superpowers). Itching to get back into action, Bob gets his chance when a mysterious communication summons him to a remote island for a top secret assignment. He soon discovers that it will take a super family effort to rescue the world from total destruction." -- Anthony Pereyra

Now here are my thoughts on the movie:

Most sequels to movies are worse than the original. Boring, obvious plot line and usually trying but failing to be anywhere near as good as the original movie. However, Incredibles 2 had me on the edge of my seat the whole time. Although slightly predictable, (in my opinion the only predictable part was who the villain was, but that depends on the person) it was still a great movie. Not only was it action packed but it was hilarious. Constant laughter filled the theater throughout the film. The movie even showed the characters to be human, making mistakes and struggling with day to day life. In most films the characters are constantly doing things and never have every day problems. However, in Incredibles 2 we see many everyday problems arise. Such as, the baby Jack Jack being as hyperactive as ever, Violet being a hormonal teenager and dash struggling with homework and Bob taking on to much as a father. It just brings the movie to a whole new platform and makes it relatable to the average every day person. The best part about the movie is it takes place only a short three months after the defeat of syndrome. As a matter of fact it takes place right where the original movie ends. It shows you what happens with the underminer but this is just the beginning of the action packed, crime-fighting, super hero movie.

Although I thought this movie was just as good or even better than the original, I hope that readers take the time to see the movie and make their own opinions. I would highly recommend seeing Incredibles 2 just make sure to have your popcorn.

Also, I do not even have a favorite character because every character in the film is unique and funny in their own way.

The Great Christmas Movie Debate

"A Christmas Story" is the star on top of the tree.

The Great Christmas Movie Debate

One staple of the Christmas season is sitting around the television watching a Christmas movie with family and friends. But of the seemingly hundreds of movies, which one is the star on the tree? Some share stories of Santa to children ("Santa Claus Is Coming to Town"), others want to spread the Christmas joy to adults ("It's a Wonderful Life"), and a select few are made to get laughs ("Elf"). All good movies, but merely ornaments on the Christmas tree of the best movies. What tops the tree is a movie that bridges the gap between these three movies, and makes it a great watch for anyone who chooses to watch it. Enter the timeless Christmas classic, "A Christmas Story." Created in 1983, this movie holds the tradition of capturing both young and old eyes for 24 straight hours on its Christmas Day marathon. It gets the most coverage out of all holiday movies, but the sheer amount of times it's on television does not make it the greatest. Why is it,
then? A Christmas Story does not try to tell the tale of a Christmas miracle or use Christmas magic to move the story. What it does do though is tell the real story of Christmas. It is relatable and brings out the unmatched excitement of children on Christmas in everyone who watches. Every one becomes a child again when they watch "A Christmas Story."

It's the most wonderful time of the year! Christmas is one of my personal favorite holidays because of the Christmas traditions my family upholds generation after generation. After talking to a few of my friends at college, I realized that a lot of them don't really have "Christmas traditions" in their family, and I want to help change that. Here's a list of Christmas traditions that my family does, and anyone can incorporate into their family as well!

It’s here; that time of year when college students turn into preschoolers again. We cry for our mothers, eat everything in sight, and whine when we don’t get our way. It’s finals, the dreaded time of the semester when we all realize we should have been paying attention in class instead of literally doing anything else but that. Everyone has to take them, and yes, unfortunately, they are inevitable. But just because they are here and inevitable does not mean they’re peaches and cream and full of rainbows. Surviving them is a must, and the following five phases are a reality for all majors from business to art, nursing to history.
