Do People Actually Want President-Elect Donald Trump To Fail?

This past election has been, to put it lightly, controversial. Between a political outsider who has never been directly involved in politics, to someone who was under investigation from the FBI. It seems as if this has been the most polarized election that America has ever had, a year of extremes.

However, no matter the rhyme or reason, the outcome is that Donald Trump is going to be the President of the United States on January 20th, 2017. As a result of this and the fast approaching Inauguration date, I have heard a lot of negativity. It seems as if you can't get on the internet or watch the news without seeing protests. Now, I'm a firm believer in standing up for what you believe in, and I believe that it's a Constitutionally given right that you may do so. However, I also believe that it comes to a point where you have to accept that some things are going to happen -- whether you like it or not.

Of all that I have heard about our upcoming President, what bothers me the most is that some people are actually wanting him to fail. That's right -- I have read (on various forms of social media) that some Americans want Donald Trump to fail as President. Now, regardless of your political ideologies, it is absolutely ridiculous to want the leader of your own country to fail, just because you disagree with him. We are one country, all in this together. If he is a horrible leader, then it is all of us that are going to suffer -- regardless of who you voted for.

Democrat, Republican or Independent Come January 20th, Donald Trump will be the President of the United States. If he fails, we are all coming down with him. It's time to start praying for no only the country, but for the leader that will step into power.

"Let everyone be subject to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except that which God has established. The authorities that exist have been established by God."

Romans 13:1.

It's time that we trust that, even in the face of adversity, God is in control.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
