Being in your 20s is awesome. You are in your prime time, and sometimes it can be a bit overwhelming with all the changes you go through while reaching adulthood. It is a time where you really need to figure out what you're going to do with your life, but sometimes its good to take a step back and have a little fun. So whenever you need to take a break, here are a couple of things you should really do or at least think about to live your 20s to the max.
- Travel. I don't know how to stress this enough. Yes, we might be broke half the time, but money comes and goes anyway, so what better way to spend it than traveling? It is the only thing that you can spend money on to make you richer.
- Make smart investments. This one often goes underestimated however it is super important. You don't have to know all the ups and downs of the market, but you should give it a try. Now if you don't want to buy stock, you can always open a savings account with a good interest rate to make more money too.
- Spend your time wisely. I'm not just talking about day to day time management. I am talking about really spending your time doing something productive, do not spend time with "friends" who are passive-aggressive. You just don't have time for that kind of stuff. If something does not benefit you in some way or another, make sure you have a good reason to be spending your time on it. You will never get your time back. Ever.
- Learn to love yourself. Everyone talks about this, but it can actually be a lot harder than you originally thought. Loving yourself doesn't mean to be a narcissist, just know to be comfortable in your own skin. Do not compare yourself to others, but if you find yourself doing so, make sure to remind yourself that everyone has their own problems and not to be so harsh on yourself.
- Volunteer. Giving back is amazing. You learn so much from people you have never met before and may not hear from ever again, but it is a great feeling of accomplishment to help others who are less fortunate. You can take this to any degree you would like. It is easiest to stay local but if you are given the opportunity to volunteer abroad, do it! Step out of your comfort zone and gain new perspectives.
- Get healthy now. You don't have to do crazy diets or be in the gym for hours each day. Make sure to visit your doctor regularly, eat right, and exercise. That's all it takes, your body will definitely appreciate it and your health will be a lot better in the long run.
- Take your chances. This one can be quite challenging sometimes, but like I said: step out of your comfort zone. If someone is planning a spontaneous trip, go! Make sure you are safe, like always, but make sure you try a little bit of everything. At least to make memories.
