Have you ever thought to yourself while watching an episode of the Kardashians, “Man do I wish I had Kylie’s lips?” Well, pretty much all of us have and we are constantly reminded through media that, sadly, we were not born with Kylie’s lips or Kim’s body. That’s the problem with the world today - so many young girls are so down on themselves because of the fact that they believe that the only way that they are pretty is if they look like one of the famous sisters. Eventually, believe it or not, the sisters will get older and they will soon be irrelevant to our times, it may not seem like that will ever happen, but it will - has anyone heard anything about the Osbourne’s lately?

Be yourself.

The best thing that you can do for yourself is to be your own person. Don’t take the time to try and impersonate someone whom you are not because you have so many qualities that make you so great. Don’t think that just because you love reading books in your free time, it makes you a nerd. You enjoy the adventures that books take you on and you would much rather enjoy that, rather than going out for a night that could lead to trouble. The most important thing to keep in mind is that you never want to compare yourself to others. No one is comparable to yourself, so start worrying more about you and less about what Kim and Kylie are doing. It will be for the better and you will accomplish way more in life when you put your focus more on your future and less on how you are going to copy one of the sister's looks.

All of the glitz and the glamour doesn’t equate to happiness.

A false belief that a lot of us fall for is that having all of the glitz and glamour like the Kardashians means that we will be forever happy and worry-free. Well, that’s not true. If you really pay attention and read in between the lines, they are not as happy as you think. They have crazy drama all of the time and their family is so torn apart that they can’t even enjoy holidays the majority of the time. Sure it would be nice to have all of the money and their closets, but that does not mean that they are happy. Stay happy with yourself and make the most out of the opportunities that are coming your way.

As growing young women, we need to start loving ourselves more and stop wishing to be someone we are not. We are beautiful individuals and we have so much to offer in every way possible, so let’s embrace it and grow as the beautiful women that we are already.

In honor of Mother’s Day, I have been thinking of all the things my mom does for my family and me. Although I couldn’t write nearly all of them, here are a few things that moms do for us.

They find that shirt that’s right in front of you, but just you can’t seem to find.

10 Reasons To Thank Your Best Friend

Take the time to thank that one friend in your life you will never let go of.

Thank You on wooden blocks

1. Thank you for being the one I can always count on to be honest.

A true friend will tell you if the shirt is ugly, or at least ask to borrow it and "accidentally" burn it.

2. Thank you for accepting me for who I am.

A best friend will love you regardless of the stale french fries you left on the floor of your car, or when you had lice in 8th grade and no one wanted to talk to you.

Do as I say, not as I do.

Your eyes widen in horror as you stare at your phone. Beads of sweat begin to saturate your palm as your fingers tremble in fear. The illuminated screen reads, "Missed Call: Mom."

Growing up with strict parents, you learn that a few things go unsaid. Manners are everything. Never talk back. Do as you're told without question. Most importantly, you develop a system and catch on to these quirks that strict parents have so that you can play their game and do what you want.

"Friends" maybe didn’t have everything right or realistic all the time, but they did have enough episodes to create countless reaction GIFs and enough awesomeness to create, well, the legacy they did. Something else that is timeless, a little rough, but memorable? Living away from the comforts of home. Whether you have an apartment, a dorm, your first house, or some sort of residence that is not the house you grew up in, I’m sure you can relate to most of these!
