In A World Full Of Kardashains, Be Diana

My hero is, and always has been, Princess Diana. She is such a good influence, unlike many famous people in today's media.

Earlier this week I was asked who was somebody who inspired me or who is somebody that I look up to? I did not answer, not be rude but just because wanted to answer in the form of an article. Who inspires me? The answer is Princess Diana. Now why would a 22-year-old man look up to a princess who’s been dead since he was 3 years old? Part of the answer to that is because she did what so many other celebrities before her hadn’t and still doesn’t do, and that’s using fame to make a positive impact. Princess Diana used her fame to bring about attention to global issues that would otherwise be ignored such as aids and poverty.

Diana did not have it easy and was not liked by the Royal in the family because of her strong will. When asked about it Diana answered with “I think that with any strong women in history it’s the strength that causes the confusion and fear – but I’m hear to do good I’m not a destructive person." Princess Diana embodies elegance and intelligence and compassion and strength making her a true hero.

Another reason as to why Diana is my hero, is that no a days not many exist. Times have changed and in my life, I have seen and noticed a huge shift in the morals of people. Today's children actually do not necessary have many positive influences in the media. Instead of people like Diana, who battled emotional issues to still made strides in both motherhood and charity work, kids today have the Kardashains. Kim Kardashain and her sisters are not hero’s by any means of the word. Kim Kardashian was raised in a wealthy family and her farther was the lawyer in one of the most famous and notorious court cases in American history the OJ Simpson case in watch Kardashain got OJ off despite the fact that he latter on hinted he was guilty of murdering his wife.

When Kim Kardashain was in her early 20s she made a sex tape with a celebrity rapper Ray Jay. Kardashain then released it and made a lot of money and pretended to be the victim. After doing so because Americas morals are so lacking she was granted fame and an empire worth over S100 million. Kim Kardashian despite is worth so much money and having a huge social media following has so much potential to help others.

The Kardashains can post about childhood cancer or do fundraisers or work with victims of disease or poverty and really make a difference in the world. But do the Kardashains do any of that? No instead they take naked selfies to post online, talk nonstop about being hot and having sex, and show off there expensive materialistic objects. This is why the Kardashains and most other celebrities are most defiantly not hero’s and why my hero is somebody from a better time who has been long dead.

Today I started my third week of college at Minnesota State Moorhead. I have survived welcome week, finding my classes on the first day, and being an awkward loner in the dining hall. Even though I have yet to be here for a month, I have already experienced many thoughts and problems that only a new college student can relate to.

"Make sure to get involved when you're in college!"

We've all heard some variation of this phrase, whether it came from parents, other family members, friends, RAs, or college-related articles. And, like many clichés, it's true for the most part. Getting involved during your college years can help you make friends, build your resume, and feel connected to your campus. However, these commitments can get stressful if you're dealing with personal issues, need to work, or aren't sure how to balance classes and everything else going on during the semester.

In college, one of the essential things to have is friends. Yes, textbooks, a laptop, and other school supplies are important but friends are essential. Friends are that support system everybody needs. The more friends you have the better the support system you have. But you also have someone to share experiences with. And don’t settle for just one or two friends because 8 out of 10 times they are busy and you are studying all alone. Or they have other friend groups that do not include you. Don’t settle for just one or two friends; make as many friends as you can. After the first couple of weeks of college, most friend groups are set and you may be without friends.
