In A World Full Of Hate

In A World Full Of Hate

Kindness is definitely a subject that I think needs to be spoken of, and spoken of in the right way. Our world has lost touch with itself. All I see everywhere is "hate this" and "hate that", and it honestly breaks my heart. The world we live in has become such a negative and degrading place. Every day I hear talk of war, hate crimes, attack on police, trash talk among nations and leaders, and all of it just keeps getting worse.

I feel like people have forgotten what it truly means to be kind and care about those around us. I am not saying we should not stick up for ourselves, or fight for our country, but I am saying that within our own country there is nothing but hate being spread. We have begun to think it is okay to solve all problems with violence. We are harming and killing our own people because of miscommunications and lack of judgment.

Something we need to understand is that we need to have compassion for other human beings. We need to have empathy. We need to be able to take a step back, see the bigger picture, and understand that not everything is about us.

My advice is to start trying to spread kindness. Our world is not going to change in one night, it will take time. Small acts of kindness can create a massive wave that will begin to wash upon those around us and spread like wildfire. Begin to open doors for others, help people carry their stuff, and smile at people who walk by on the street and in hallways. Let's change the world day by day with joy, love, and unending benevolence. Wouldn't we all like to see a world with more kindness?

Dear Mom,

You took care of me and my brothers our entire lives and you still continue to! I will not be able to truly grasp all of the hard work that you put into this family until I create my own one day. But, I know that there are plenty of times I forgot to give you a simple thank you or an appreciative smile. I thank you for everything that you have done for me and will continue to do for me. Here are some examples of those times where you had my back and I forgot to pat your back for saving me:

College is hard. As people ages 18-22, we’re just trying to figure out what we’re doing with our lives, our careers, our eating habits, exercise routines, sleep patterns, and other necessities for adult life. We definitely don’t take proper care of ourselves; it’s basically impossible when we have essays, tests and readings due and somehow we’re supposed to eat right, exercise and sleep. We’re doomed to get sick. I have zero experience in science but when I get sick there are certain things I do to make myself better.

Now that it seems “talking” is the new way to date, and will stay that way until another idiotic term is used to describe the people who can’t settle down and just date someone, I feel as if it’s time to go over the unwritten rules of “talking.”

Rule 1. Having feeling without feeling.
