In This New Age of Feminism No One is Above Respect

Call me crazy, but when I am nice to other ladies, I would like them to be nice back.

I cannot stress this enough, women supporting each other has to be something that is considered cool again. No, I am not going to come at you with all that artificial feminism crap. I mean, let's strip down. No race, political party, or social class involved. We are all women dealing with the same things: periods, men, and life. So it comes down to the real issue. Why are women so petty? Just because someone is different than you, when did that suddenly make it okay to be mean to one another?

I have this coworker who makes it a point to put me down any chance she has. Since she is above me in the work place, I make sure not to upset her. I started thinking today if this is what it has come to? When someone treats us badly we are just supposed to sit there and take it. As women, we should all be on the same team, we are all there selling one specific product and working towards a common goal. Working together makes things easier, that's for sure, and working against each other makes everything just that much harder. I am starting to understand the workplace and why there are so many issues with it, especially within this new surge of female power.

Another thing that upsets me is when you see a girl you think is super pretty, so you smile and they don't give a smile back. They actually give you a rude face. Yeah, that is not okay. I like your eyebrows and I want to make it known. Accusing me of only liking them because you are of some ethnic origin is completely rude. I don't wanna make this piece political, but honestly, it's what I do. I wish women in general would stop acting like if you aren't a Hillary-loving-vagina-wearing-democrat you suddenly aren't part of this idea of a proud strong woman. That is how hardcore new age feminism makes me feel, like I am on the outside. Correct me if I am wrong, but that seems to be the opposite of the goal of new age feminism. I want to bring back the idea that you can be a feminist without being a Democrat. This article in general is highlighting the fact that women have become so different and diverse that we are even willing to stake our lives based on who we vote for. That's wrong, let's be nice and listen to each other, Democrats and Republicans alike. And to the Democrats, I am talking to you: do not antagonize me because I like the Trump family, that is my choice.

I think I speak for us all when I say girls should really work on being nicer to each other because no one is above respect.

The Great Christmas Movie Debate

"A Christmas Story" is the star on top of the tree.

The Great Christmas Movie Debate

One staple of the Christmas season is sitting around the television watching a Christmas movie with family and friends. But of the seemingly hundreds of movies, which one is the star on the tree? Some share stories of Santa to children ("Santa Claus Is Coming to Town"), others want to spread the Christmas joy to adults ("It's a Wonderful Life"), and a select few are made to get laughs ("Elf"). All good movies, but merely ornaments on the Christmas tree of the best movies. What tops the tree is a movie that bridges the gap between these three movies, and makes it a great watch for anyone who chooses to watch it. Enter the timeless Christmas classic, "A Christmas Story." Created in 1983, this movie holds the tradition of capturing both young and old eyes for 24 straight hours on its Christmas Day marathon. It gets the most coverage out of all holiday movies, but the sheer amount of times it's on television does not make it the greatest. Why is it,
then? A Christmas Story does not try to tell the tale of a Christmas miracle or use Christmas magic to move the story. What it does do though is tell the real story of Christmas. It is relatable and brings out the unmatched excitement of children on Christmas in everyone who watches. Every one becomes a child again when they watch "A Christmas Story."

It’s here; that time of year when college students turn into preschoolers again. We cry for our mothers, eat everything in sight, and whine when we don’t get our way.
