As much as we don't want to think about it, there is only about five weeks of summer left before classes start up again. Of course we want to make the best of it and have fun with our friends and family. But don't let the diminishing days put a damper to the rest of your summer. Here are a few ideas to do before classes start up in September.

Camping: Whether its in your back yard or at a camp ground, grab a few friends or family members and set up camp. Don't forget to complete it by adding some music and a campfire with smores. It's not camping without roasting some smores.

A Trip to the Beach: Take a day trip to a close beach or make it a weekend by going to one a bit further away from home. Take those final pictures in the waves with your girls (or guys) and make some fun summer memories that you can look back at throughout the year.

Day Trip: Go to a museum, an aquarium, or some place you have never been too or haven't been too in awhile. This is a great time to again before the stress of homework starts.

Go For a Hike: When it is not so hot out, go for a hike. Skinner mountain and Mt. Greylock are great places to go hiking and have a an incredible view from the top!

Visit a Waterfall: I recently visited one this past weekend. My boyfriend and two of my friends went to New York and walked to Bash Bish falls. It was beautiful with its waterfalls of clear, cool water. I think everyone should visit it at some point. It is a great place to stick you feet in the water, swim a little (technically you are not allowed too), and have a picnic on one of the rocks overlooking one of the pools of the waterfall.

Go To a Water Park: An excellent idea for one of our hot, New England days. Six Flags is always an option with it's water park and theme park.

Go Kayaking: If your a fan of the outdoors and water, take a day and go kayaking. It is very relaxing and beautiful at sunrise or sunset. There are great places to kayak all over. Kayaking up the Swift River in Belchertown is fun and relaxing with picnic and camping areas along side the water's edge. The water is clear and you can see the fish swimming below you.

See a Concert: Some, if not most areas will hold free concerts during the summer. It is a great place to go for a fun evening of mingling with friends and listening to great music.

In honor of Mother’s Day, I have been thinking of all the things my mom does for my family and me. Although I couldn’t write nearly all of them, here are a few things that moms do for us.

They find that shirt that’s right in front of you, but just you can’t seem to find.

10 Reasons To Thank Your Best Friend

Take the time to thank that one friend in your life you will never let go of.

Thank You on wooden blocks

1. Thank you for being the one I can always count on to be honest.

A true friend will tell you if the shirt is ugly, or at least ask to borrow it and "accidentally" burn it.

2. Thank you for accepting me for who I am.

A best friend will love you regardless of the stale french fries you left on the floor of your car, or when you had lice in 8th grade and no one wanted to talk to you.

Do as I say, not as I do.

Your eyes widen in horror as you stare at your phone. Beads of sweat begin to saturate your palm as your fingers tremble in fear. The illuminated screen reads, "Missed Call: Mom."

Growing up with strict parents, you learn that a few things go unsaid. Manners are everything. Never talk back. Do as you're told without question. Most importantly, you develop a system and catch on to these quirks that strict parents have so that you can play their game and do what you want.

"Friends" maybe didn’t have everything right or realistic all the time, but they did have enough episodes to create countless reaction GIFs and enough awesomeness to create, well, the legacy they did. Something else that is timeless, a little rough, but memorable? Living away from the comforts of home. Whether you have an apartment, a dorm, your first house, or some sort of residence that is not the house you grew up in, I’m sure you can relate to most of these!
