You know you were born in the '90s if you share these memories from your childhood:
1) TV Shows
Cartoons, actual acting, PBS, Disney, Nickelodeon, Cartoon Network and more. Today’s shows have nothing on what we grew up watching. Now that was some good TV.
2) Music
Your school's talent or variety show always had, at least, one Britney song, and choosing whether Backstreet Boys or NSYNC were better was extremely overwhelming. Green Day, Destinys Child, Whitney Houston and more.
3) Fashion
Scrunchies were either in a girl's hair or on her wrist. You couldn't wait for spring to wear one of your colored jelly sandals, and jean overalls on kids were equatable to jean jackets on teens. If you wore butterfly clips in your hair, there were at least 3.
4) Toys
Keeping a Tamagotchi alive was so stressful and your Furby going off in the middle of the night was always so scary. When HitClips came out, you were ready to toss your old CD player away, until you remembered the clips only played about one minute of the song.
5) School
When the school store was open, it was one of the most exciting days. Squishy grippers, layered pencils, erasers, and more. Gym class was everyone's favorite, especially when the parachute was brought out. Don't forget you weren't cool unless your crayon box was a 96 count with a sharpener in the back.
6) Technology
Ah, back then you thought it was awesome having your own house phone in your bedroom. Cell phones resembled little bricks and the pictures you took on cameras were developed at your local grocery store. Having to wait for your VHS to rewind was annoying and when your CD player couldn't play a song because the disc was scratched was extremely frustrating. Dial up internet was popular and setting your AIM away message as "out, txt me" was your way of feeling popular.
7) Food and Drinks
Let's start with who thought that green and purple ketchup would be appealing? Wonder Balls were exciting and any sort of ice cream or candy that had to be pushed out of its wrapper was so much fun. Fun drinks and candies were always the best part of being a kid.
Forever funny memories, forever cherishable ones. Here's to you 90's kids!
