In Search of: Myself

He adores our praise, whether it be alone or with a group.

Here's something about me that is both a blessing and a curse: I like to be a part of a group. It's a blessing because it shows that I can work with anyone, that I'm willing to put myself out there. It's a curse because sometimes, I can only get what I'm looking for from said crowd.

What I mean by this is that with my being newer to the faith (again), I have a tough time getting into the presence of the Lord by myself. I tend to find excuses not to: "hey, this show is on TV" or "hey, so and so wants to play on Xbox". When I'm with a group of like minded (Christian) people, I tend to have an easier time getting into His presence. I definitely want to (and need to) work on this. That being said, I do want to find a good, close group of Christian friends who I can rely on. It does feel good to know someone has your back in prayer when times get tough.

We were made to worship Him, either alone or with a group. I know that my solo praises mean just as much to Him as praising with a group. I do hope soon to find this group of friends; it helps to have a support group. But regardless, I know Jesus will have my back, and that's all that matters.

If I'm not singing, I'm probably humming, sometimes without even realizing it. So as someone who loves to sing, these are some of the feelings and thoughts I have probably almost every day.
