For those who are lucky enough to have lived on the West Coast and surrounding regions, In-N-Out is almost a way of life. For the rest of us, it’s a matter of hopping on a plane and experience the holy goodness that In-N-Out is made of. Now I’m not trying to exaggerate here, I’ve eaten at tons of food joints in my lifetime, but In-N-Out is different from the rest, it’s special. I don’t know why I’ve been settling for less when it came to other fast food restaurants when something as heavenly satisfying exists on this planet earth. Go and love yourself, and try In-N-Out Burger ASAP.

I remember my first time at In-N-Out like it was yesterday. My sister’s best friend suggested it after she picked us up from the airport, and we all know that long flights can make one hungry. We went through the drive through, and it was a little past midnight, but that wasn’t stopping everyone else from waiting in the outstanding long drive thru line.

I’m thinking to myself that we’re not going to make it to the drive thru window until 2 am! But then I see someone coming towards the vehicle with a headset and uniform, and I realized that not all heroes wear capes. We had our order taken before going up to the window by somebody very friendly who knew exactly what they were doing. There wasn’t any, “Okay what was that second thing?” or “You wanted what to drink?” The person taking our order had it all together, which brings up the next and arguably most important thing: the menu.

The menu is SO SIMPLE, but it works! You have your standard hamburger, cheeseburger, fries, and drinks. If you want something a little more crazy, have no fear, because In-N-Out has a secret menu which involves ANIMAL STYLE FRIES…need I say more? It’s so easy to order which makes it easy on large groups and for those who can’t simply make up their mind.

Once you get up to the window after who knows how long, and you receive your blessing (aka your food), you instantly smell the freshness of the food before even opening it. It’s hard to resist eating the whole meal on your way back home, but you must be patient. GOOD THINGS COME TO THOSE WHO WAIT!

So once you’re settled and ready to experience the much-raved about In-N-Out Burger, you have to take a moment of silence--a moment of silence for those who are less fortunate and don’t have an In-N-Out Burger.

Then you take that first bite of that juicy burger and bam! You’re instantly in love. That’s all there is to it. Nothing was the same, like Drake said. You’re no longer ‘lovin’ it,’ and wonder why you’ve been missing out on what real quality food is. So if you’re ever lucky enough to be in the perimeters of an In-N-Out, make the trip and your life will be forever changed, I promise you!

Today I started my third week of college at Minnesota State Moorhead. I have survived welcome week, finding my classes on the first day, and being an awkward loner in the dining hall. Even though I have yet to be here for a month, I have already experienced many thoughts and problems that only a new college student can relate to.

"Make sure to get involved when you're in college!"

We've all heard some variation of this phrase, whether it came from parents, other family members, friends, RAs, or college-related articles. And, like many clichés, it's true for the most part. Getting involved during your college years can help you make friends, build your resume, and feel connected to your campus. However, these commitments can get stressful if you're dealing with personal issues, need to work, or aren't sure how to balance classes and everything else going on during the semester.

In college, one of the essential things to have is friends. Yes, textbooks, a laptop, and other school supplies are important but friends are essential. Friends are that support system everybody needs. The more friends you have the better the support system you have. But you also have someone to share experiences with. And don’t settle for just one or two friends because 8 out of 10 times they are busy and you are studying all alone. Or they have other friend groups that do not include you. Don’t settle for just one or two friends; make as many friends as you can. After the first couple of weeks of college, most friend groups are set and you may be without friends.

For a moment your world is spinning. The phone alarm has just scared you awake and you’re flooded by daunting thoughts of the day ahead. You have three assignments due and little time to work on them because of your job. You’re running late because you’ve hit snooze one to many times after yesterday’s long hours. You dizzily reach for a hoodie, craving its comfort, and rush for a speedy exit, praying you will have time to pick up coffee. Does this sound familiar?

Finals week is upon us. It is a magical time of year during which college students everywhere flock to the library in attempt to learn a semester's worth of knowledge in only a week. For some students, it's their first time in the library all semester, maybe ever. Others have slaved away many nights under the fluorescent lights, and are slightly annoyed to find their study space being invaded by amateurs. While these newbies wander aimlessly around the first floor, hopelessly trying to find a table, the OGs of the library are already on the third floor long tables deep into their studies.
