As humans, we sometimes feel that things are supposed to happen when we want them to. We live our entire lives with a set goal on what we want to accomplish before we depart from this world. I remember in high school we used to write our short term & long-term goals. Don't get me wrong. I am, in no way, saying that it is not good to set goals; however, don’t assume everything is going to happen when you expect it to. I am a firm believer that nothing is circumstance; everything is providence. This means that my writing this article is not an accident; it was destined before I even thought about starting to write articles.
There are times in our lives where we have rushed things. Rushing is defined as, “to do something or move very quickly, or to cause someone to act in such a way.” When we rush, it causes this sense of urgency that can lead to disappointment. Nothing that comes easy can be good for you. A lot of people try to compare their lives to another person without even realizing what they had to endure in order to be where they are today. There is a quote that states, “Don’t compare your chapter 1 to someone else’s chapter 20.”
Time exists for a reason. We are all destined for greatness, but it is up to us to determine how far we will go to achieve our respective goals. Acts 1:7 says: “It is not for you to know the times or the dates the father has set by his own authority.” God has set a date for every event that has happened in your life, whether good or bad. This will only help to manifest the true purpose God has created for your life. Like my grandmother used to say, “He may not come when you want Him but, He is always on time.” Trust in the Lord and remember, “Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen (Hebrews 11:1).” Remember, rushing can always lead to downfall. Take your time and step out on faith. God is always working in your favor.
