5 Reasons Why Autumn is The Best Season Ever

Autumn always gets passed by on everyone’s list for favorite season, but it is and always has been the epitome of the perfect season. In this article, I will list a few reasons why I believe Autumn should be your favorite season too!

1. Halloween

Yes, Halloween is one of my favorite holidays because of the awesome costumes and the free candy. Now that I’m an adult, I also get to have one of the best jobs of the night: handing out candy to trick or treaters. Seeing their faces light up when I hand them candy makes the night all the better! Once we run out of candy, our porch light goes off and we can celebrate Halloween like adults and go to bed immediately because we have work and school in the morning.

2. Cooler Weather

One of the best things about our side of the planet being farther away from the sun is the cooler weather. Being a big guy with a beard is extremely difficult in the warmer months because hair doesn’t breathe well, women with long hair can attest to this. In the warmer months, I always have to shave in order to get the heat out of my body and to stay cooler. In September and October, I can grow the beard out and wear warmer clothes like flannel and hoodies. The all-important hoodie! I cannot find a better accessory than the hoodie. It keeps you both warm and in style.

3. Longer Nights

With our planet on an axis, our part of the globe is now getting farther and farther away from the sun with each passing day. This means that the days are getting shorter and the nights are getting longer. Now, I can’t speak for everyone reading this list, but I love sleep. Actually, love is too small a word. I adore sleep. It is one of my favorite things to do every day. I love getting more and more time to sleep and dream and relax in my bed every day. Plus, I can still sleep with my window cracked and I’ll wake up wrapped up in my blankets ready and refreshed for the next day.

4. Dead Insects

While I’m not afraid of insects or arachnids, I do not want them to appear in my room as uninvited house guests either. Watching the moths fly into my porch light and freeze with the coming cold brings a smile to my face as I watch them twitch on the ground with the falling leaves. Which brings me to my final entry…

5. Falling and Changing Leaves

My favorite part of Autumn is the colors of the changing leaves and watching them fall. It’s kind of a tradition in my family to go up to Estes Park and look at the changing leaves while listening to the elk bugle. If I can’t make it up into the mountains to look at the leaves, I simply have to look around at any of my local parks or even my university’s campus. There are hundreds of different species of trees in my local area and I can go look at them completely free of charge and enjoy the beauty of nature. So this Autumn, go outside, be in the beauty of nature. Take pictures and enjoy our beautiful world.

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

For those long nights that turn into mornings when the struggle is real.

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.

December... it's full of finals, due dates, Mariah Carey, and the holidays. It's the worst time of the year, but the best because after finals, you get to not think about classes for a month and catch up on all the sleep you lost throughout the semester. But what's worse than finals week is the last week of classes, when all the due dates you've put off can no longer be put off anymore.

Thanksgiving break is over and Christmas is just around the corner and that means, for most college students, one hellish thing — finals week. It's the one time of year in which the library becomes over populated and mental breakdowns are most frequent. There is no way to avoid it or a cure for the pain that it brings. All we can do is hunker down with our books, order some Dominos, and pray that it will all be over soon. Luckily, we are not alone in this suffering. To prove it, here are just a few of the many deranged thoughts that go through a college student's mind during finals week.

I know every college student has daily thoughts throughout their day. Whether you're walking on campus or attending class, we always have thoughts running a mile a minute through our heads. We may be wondering why we even showed up to class because we'd rather be sleeping, or when the professor announces that we have a test and you have an immediate panic attack.
