When Faced With Darkness, Be The Light

Another unthinkable tragedy.

More lives taken too soon.

Unbearable loss that dims the sun and casts the stars down from the heavens.

Questions spin madly through the darkened sky,

Why? Why? Why?

A symphony of mourning.

The sound of hearts breaking.

Piercing, agonizing.

Why?


Enough tears shed to consume the Earth.

Our Earth.

There should be no place for evil.


Fear and grief become one beast,

Crushing us until darkness is all we know.


But in the face of this seemingly impenetrable darkness, there is hope.

There is faith.

There is kindness.

There is love.

There is humanity.

There is you.

You can shine out into the darkness.

Wrap gentle arms around the broken world and heal it as best you can.


Be the light,

And others will be lit by your insistent flame.

Ah, yes, good old Hauppauge. We are that town in the dead center of Long Island that barely anyone knows how to pronounce unless they're from the town itself or live in a nearby area. Hauppauge is home to people of all kinds. We always have new families joining the community but honestly, the majority of the town is filled with people who never leave (high school alumni) and elders who have raised their kids here. Around the town, there are some just some landmarks and places that only the people of Hauppauge will ever understand the importance or even the annoyance of.
