Life can get pretty full and overwhelming sometimes and when it does, it's important to know how to deal with it. We all have a bunch of different things that we have to manage, myself included. Usually we have to manage stuff like studying, working, or our personal lives. When these pressures are being thrown our way, relaxation is a very effective tool for looking after our health- both physical and mental. All it takes is a little bit of time each day to put your feet up and you will be benefiting your wellbeing in more ways than one.

So, I'm sure we all know that relaxation is good for us, but how exactly? Check these benefits out:

Keeping your stress levels in check: Stress in small amounts are good- it helps us stay motivated to get stuff done. However, when it sticks around longer and affecting our everyday lives, then it becomes a problem. Daily relaxation helps to manage our stress levels.

Improved Sleep: Sleep is not only fun, but it also helps keeps its role in making sure that we are functioning well daily. If you find time for some zen before bed, it'll really improve your sleep. Believe me, I do this and it helps tremendously, especially as a college student who stays up very late.

Improved Mood: An awesome way to improve your mood is through relaxation techniques. Usually, finding ways to relax your muscles through techniques or breathing exercises, helps most. Sometimes, these things can take some practice and may take longer than usual, but in the end will benefit you.

Improved Memory and Reduced Illnesses: Naturally, getting more zen time in, will help your memory and concentration immensely. In addition, putting long term stress on our bodies actually destroys our bodies, especially our hearts. Make it a point to relax and it will do us better in the long run.

Loosen up every night and set apart some time in your schedule to relax and in turn it'll help your overall quality of living. I've included some pleasing images below to help you out:

With more people becoming aware of transgender and non-binary people, there have been a lot of questions circulating online and elsewhere about how to be more inclusive. Language is very important in making a space safer for trans and non-binary individuals. With language, there is an established and built-in measure of whether a place could be safe or unsafe. Cambio

Singing is something I do all day, every day. It doesn't matter where I am or who's around. If I feel like singing, I'm going to. It's probably annoying sometimes, but I don't care -- I love to sing!
