To The Most Important People In My Life
Kylee Osborne

This past week, someone asked me who the most important person in my life was. I have never felt more blessed than whenever I was answering that question. There was no way I could choose just one person.

Mom and Dad,

Thank y'all for everything you guys have ever given and done for me. I know it must not have been easy, having me as young as you did but you have done such a phenomenal job as parents. I look up to you for your hard work, the sacrifices you have made and the love and kindness you pour out. I can't believe the life I have is mine sometimes, you guys have given me everything I could ever imagine. I will never be able to repay you for being the best role models and shaping me into the person I am today. I thank God everyday for giving me the coolest parents and best friends.

Little brother,

You are the coolest, most talented and funniest person I have ever met. You are so weird but so am I, so I like it... a lot. You never fail to make me laugh no matter how inappropriate or completely off topic the things you say are. No matter how cool and tough you try and act, your heart is gentle and kind. You care about others. I envy your ability to forgive others so effortlessly. I can't wait to see where life takes you.

Nana and Popo,

You two are the absolute best people I know. You endlessly give to others and never expect anything in return. Y'all do so much for our family and I could not be more thankful to have you guys. Y'all have taught me so many valuable lessons and always been my biggest supporters. I hope y'all know that I think about you two every single day and cherish y'all so much. Thank you for loving my family and I unconditionally and supporting us until the very end.

Best friend,

You are such an incredible person. You bring me closer to the Lord every single day. You push me to be my absolute best and settle for nothing less. I look up to you for how hard you work for the things that mean the most to you. You radiate kindness, compassion, love, fun and joy. I will never be able to show you how thankful I am for your unconditional love and all of the laughter you have brought me. I am not sure why I was lucky enough to have ran into you at the little league fields over 9 years ago and to this day have you as such a vital role in my life. I would do anything for you and I know you would do the same. I am so blessed to have someone like you.

My Savior,

Thank you for loving me at my worst, for giving me the many wonderful people that you have and for making me new again every single day. Thank you for giving purpose to my life and pouring love into my heart whenever it truly needs it the most. You make the darkest situations full of light. It's hard to believe that something good can be made out of the worst of situations but with you, that is possible. I am so thankful to know of your unwavering goodness, love and forgiveness.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
