Despite being a medical drama Grey's Anatomy has always given it's audience many emotional moments. Whether we were crying over a patients death, a doctors death or the breakup of our favorite couple the show has never failed to bring it's audience to tears.

But just as much as this show has made us cry it has also given us some important life lessons. Here are the most important lessons Grey's Anatomy taught me.

1. Be great.

Cristina Yang always coming through with the inspiring life lessons.

2. It's ok to be sad.

Meredith has gone through more than enough in her life, but seeing a strong woman admit she can't naturally be happy all the time was really great to see portrayed on television.

3. The road to success isn't always an easy one.

We've all seen our favorite characters cry at least once on this show, and to be reminded that the way to the top isn't always an easy one is more than inspiring.

4. Your friends are your support system.

The friendship between Cristina and Meredith has always been one of the most positive portrayals of female friendship on t.v. and asking someone to believe in you is okay. We all need it sometimes.

5. Live. And continue to live.

The never ending shortage of strong female characters is so great.

6. You need to love yourself before you love him.

No matter how hot that guy is, you are always going to be the number one priority.

7. Make mistakes, it'll happen and it's ok.

You might make that god-awful mistake several times. But it'll be fine.

8. Boys suck.

And they definitely can go suck it.

9. Be your own hero.

Meredith has never been one to wait around for someone to save her (unless she was drowning) but this was still an important take away from the show.

10. Know your crap, and you can handle it.

We all have emotional crap, and we can work on getting over it.

11. You can get through it.

You can do it, whatever you are doing you can do it. And you can kick its ass.

12. Appreciate your today.

Life cannot and will not always be perfect, so enjoy it when it is.

13. Grief is hard to overcome, but you can get through it.

With no shortage of sadness on this show, seeing the frank portrayal of grief seems inevitable. But the grieving process is nothing to be ashamed of.

14. It's okay to be soft.

Even Meredith Grey cannot be strong all the time, and letting your guard down is okay.

15. And finally...

Having one bad day does not mean a bad life. You can take on tomorrow.

girl with a hat

This is for the girls who have dealt with an emotionally, mentally, physically or verbally abusive father.

The ones who have grown up with a false lens of what love is and how relationships should be. The ones who have cried themselves to sleep wondering why he hurts you and your family so much. This is for all the girls who fall in love with broken boys that carry baggage bigger than their own, thinking it's their job to heal them because you watched your mother do the same.

Blair Waldorf Quote
"DESTINY IS FOR LOSERS. IT'S JUST A STUPID EXCUSE TO WAIT FOR THINGS TO HAPPEN INSTEAD OF MAKING THEM HAPPEN." - BLAIR WALDORF.

The world stopped in 2012 when our beloved show "Gossip Girl" ended. For six straight years, we would all tune in every Monday at 9:00 p.m. to see Upper Eastside royalty in the form of a Burberry headband clad Blair Waldorf. Blair was the big sister that we all loved to hate. How could we ever forget the epic showdowns between her and her frenemy Serena Van Der Woodsen? Or the time she banished Georgina Sparks to a Christian summer camp? How about that time when she and her girls took down Bart Bass? Blair is life. She's taught us how to dress, how to be ambitious, and most importantly, how to throw the perfect shade.

too tired to care

1. The awkward hellos on move-in day.

You're moving your stuff onto your floor, and you will encounter people you don't know yet in the hallway. They live on your floor, so you'll awkwardly smile and maybe introduce yourself. As you walk away, you will wonder if they will ever speak to you again, but don't worry, there's a good chance that you will make some great friends on your floor!

Recently I completed my freshman year of college, and boy, what an experience. It was a completely new learning environment and I can't believe how much I learned. In an effort to save time, here are the ten biggest lessons I learned from my first year of college.

1. Everyone is in the same boat

For me, the scariest part of starting school was that I was alone, that I wouldn't be able to make any friends and that I would stick out. Despite being told time and time again that everyone had these same feelings, it didn't really click until the first day when I saw all the other freshman looking as uneasy and uncomfortable as me. Therefore, I cannot stress this enough, everyone is feeling as nervous as you.
