Cars have become a common household purchase in many areas of the world, providing a faster way of transportation. But what happens when you are in an emergency, such as the car breaking down? With the weather being unpredictable, you can be put in a dangerous situation without any preparation. This is why everyone needs one.
What should be in this kit? According to edmunds.com, the following should be in this kit: jumper cables, or a lithium-ion battery with jumper cables, Flares or triangle reflectors, at least a quart of motor oil, a gallon of coolant, first aid kit, a blanket, flashlight with extra batteries, toolkit, pocket knife, tire inflator and sealant, tire pressure gauge, paper towels, spray bottle with washer fluid, ice scrapper, pen and paper, granola or energy bars, and bottled water.
Regarding the ice scrapper, if you live in an area with snow it is more of a necessity. And I know this seems like a lot, believe me. I own a VW Bettle which means I don't have much room. But, here's the good news, all or most of this can be put in a backpack and stored in a convenient area of the car.
There are also pre-made kits online and in stores. Being prepared really matters, and the smallest things can make a stressful time much easier. And it could save your life too. Being a small car owner, it would definitely make me feel better to know that I can fix a situation because I have what I need.
