From all ages and phases, there are always a group of girls/guys you call your friends. Some are life-long and some you only share fond memories with. Either way, it is natural for us to float in and out of friendships but time tells which will last a lifetime.
In high school I found myself hanging out with a group of older girls from a different school that I met through friends and relationships. We'd go to bonfires together, have late nights together, knock-down-drag-outs about boys together and in the end, leave each other to go to our respective schools.
No matter what we all vowed to still be besties and get together whenever and however we could. This has led to our yearly friendsgiving, girls' Christmas slumber party, trips to the vineyard, trips to Main Street Pub (if you know, you know), and of course, trips to each other's "new" homes to hang out with each other's "new" friends.
We text almost every day, if not we pick up right where we left off. We all know everything about each other and we all still love everything about each other. I can be completely consumed in my "Columbia" life and still joke about all of the nonsense that goes on back in our little hometown.
Since I met these girls I knew they would be my bridesmaids one day. I've dressed them and lined them up in my head a million times because there is no one else I want beside me when important things go down. For instance, we all road tripped together to celebrate my 21st, the last of the group, in Nashville and had the best time because that is just what we do.
If I'm fighting with one, another will help us get over it. If I'm mad at them all, I will quickly get over it myself. If something is ever going wrong I know I will always have their support and prayers.
There are many important people in your life: your mom, siblings, grandparents, significant others, etc. But some of the best people to have around are your gal (or guy) pals. I am so blessed to have mine.
