We've all been depressed or stressed before. Maybe finals have you pulling your hair out and panicking, maybe you're going through some tough life problems that have lead you into a depression. Sometimes, we can pull ourselves out of it and move forward and sometimes some of us need a little extra help of a doctor. Regardless, we all know mental health is important and the stigma of such is slowly fading away. At least, for regular people it is.
What about being in the public eye? Having fans watch your every move has to be stressful and put a strain on your health. As of late, we've seen several bands and other famous people taking a break. Most recently, Modern Baseball announced that they were not going to tour any time soon so they could focus on their own health. Dan Lambton from Real Friends took a break last year to focus on himself. Millie Bobby Brown from the show Stranger Things canceled an appearance at a comic convention to rest. There have been others too. Those people taking breaks from their every day life is an absolutely beautiful thing. If all else it shows we all are human and regardless of our job or who we are, we need to take time to focus on our mental health. This in turn is changing the stigma that revolves around getting help, something that still exists.
As long as our favorite musicians or actors take time to evaluate their mental state, we will learn the importance of our own mental states. More and more people will seek help. The stigma of receiving help will die, and those who were or once were suffering, will thrive.
