The Importance Of American Eagle Outfitters' #WeAllCan Campaign
American Eagle

Ever since I was a teenager, I’ve worn American Eagle’s jeans to death. And to this day, I still cannot find ones that I love more. But I never really took the time to get to know the company itself, and as I discovered their values and what they stood for, I was far from disappointed.

The #We All Can Campaign is designed to celebrate the power of millennials—and just how awesome they really are. Stars such as YouTuber/singer Troye Sivan, actress Hailee Steinfeld, and Blackish star Yara Shahidi have all taken part in the campaign. American Eagle’s Instagram account is flooded with pictures of each star and their empowering messages for the campaign. My personal favorite is Troye Sivan’s, which is “I Can Love Anyone.” Love is a beautiful, wonderful thing to experience, and I am inspired and thankful that both Troye and American Eagle are using their platform to encourage others to never be ashamed of who they love. According to American Eagle’s global brand president, Chad Kessler, “#WeAllCan is a new brand platform that celebrates Young America's unique voice and individuality. #WeAllCan is an invitation for Young America to follow their passions and share what they can do, be, and create."

American Eagle has also partnered with Rock The Vote as part of the campaign, which features t-shirts and a denim jacket with the phrase “I Can” inside the word American. It’s extremely important for every person, especially youth and young adults that their voice matters, and they are capable of producing positive changes in America. Youth and young adults play a much larger role in America than they may realize—and it is vital that they know they can freely exercise that role.

By showcasing this campaign, American Eagle is emphasizing that we all can achievewhatever we put our minds to, no matter our age, race, or gender.
