It's scary how one hurricane can cause so much damage. First in the city of Jeremie in Haiti, next in Florida. As I write this, the death tolls have reached more than 400 in Jeremie... and it is only increasing.
Even though I do not have any personal connections with the people in Haiti, I have many friends who have been for mission trips so it must be hard for them to think that so many are injured and dying.
However, I am still worried about Hurricane Matthew, as it is hitting Florida, where my dad lives. I have heard from friends in Florida that their schools are being cancelled because of the storm and videos of just how flooded the streets are. It scares me how there is a strong storm that could potentially be a danger to my friends and family back in Florida.
Because I am living in Forsyth County, and all we are receiving is a drizzle of rain compared to this huge storm, I do not know what people back in these affected areas are going through. But I do know the damage it has caused, so I am sending prayers out to those people.
