Here it is: I'm so tired of talking about Donald Trump and hearing about Donald Trump and watching Donald Trump do things that are ridiculous and taking America a million steps back in terms of environment, economic and ethical strategy. That might come off as hypocritical, seeing as I have written several articles about Trump and his administration, and it might be, but it's the truth. I think everyone can agree that so much has happened in the weeks since Donald Trump became President that it's almost too much to ingest without having a full-on panic attack. Saturday Night Live has said that they almost have too much material based on the new Trump administration, since when did that ever happen with Obama?
I understand that Obama didn't necessarily bring about the fierce change he promised, which caused a lot of blue states to go red (I'm talking about you Michigan & Pennsylvania), but he did bring about change. Obama's strategies were methodical and slow, progressing over eight years and lending to some significant changes that he outlined in his final State of the Union Address, which I highly recommend watching in full if you truly believe Obama did nothing in eight years.
Regardless, his administration didn't fulfill the promises he made during his campaigns, and Trump is already starting to work on the missions he outlined in during his campaign. He promised to build a wall on the Mexican-American border (which most strategists believe is the most expensive and ineffective way to stop illegal immigration), he made an executive order to build that wall; he promised to bring jobs back to America, he has made an executive order to ensure that all steel used here in America, is made here in America, which will bring some jobs back. So I guess my question is, is this what you wanted? I'm not just asking Republicans, I'm asking all who voted for or support Trump, is this what you wanted? The fierce change you didn't see with Obama is here, and it is just everything you dreamed of?
As of now, I'm not going to write about Donald Trump anymore. Not because I don't agree with policies, but because it's just too much. Maybe if an impeachment happens in the next four years (let's hope not, Mike Pence is not any better), you might hear something from me on the topic, but for now I will stay quiet. In this time, it's better to focus our efforts on pressuring our local bodies of government to do what's right in regards to the environment, economy, and ethics that our country was originally built on. Sign up to get updates from your local senators and representatives and make sure you are giving them your input, no matter how small you might think it is, they are here to work for us and vote on behalf of us, make sure they know that.
