College is all about hanging out with friends, going out to parties, staying up until dawn, and doing it all over again the next day. Believe me, I’ve had my fair share of that, but I think it’s finally time for me to throw in the towel.
I’m a junior and I’m practically 21 years old. I’m partied out. My friends are constantly asking me to go out with them, and I just don’t think I can do it anymore. Basically, I’m the worst college student ever and here are the reasons why.
I don’t like going to parties anymore.
Freshman year I distinctly remember going out four nights a week, every week. Sophomore year, I went out two nights a week. And now, I just want to curl up in my bed and watch Netflix instead of going to a frat party.
I don’t like eating after 8:00 pm.
Some college students eat dinner at 10:00 pm and that’s entirely too late to be consuming a meal. Usually, I eat dinner at 5:00 pm or 6:00 pm, giving my stomach enough time to digest the food before bed. I feel better knowing that I didn’t indulge myself in the late hours of the night.
I like going to bed early.
The keyword here is “like.” I can never actually go to bed early because every other college student around me doesn’t enjoy turning down at 10:00 pm. It’s hard to fall asleep when people are running around in the hallways, stomping on the floors above you, or loudly hanging out in your living room.
I like to be left alone.
Alone doesn’t mean lonely. I just really like being by myself. Most college students need a group of people to follow them around to the library or the dining halls, but I’m totally comfortable doing everything by myself. Independence is key.
I complete homework weeks before it’s due.
If I notice that I have a big presentation or a paper due, I start working on it weeks before the deadline. That way, I don’t stress about it the day before. It’s a bit unorthodox for the procrastinating college student, I know.
So in conclusion, I’m the worst college student ever because I’m lame and anti-social. I wasn’t always like this, but as the years go by, you start to prioritize. I really like my lame life, though. 10/10 would recommend.
