You see that girl who looks like she may or may not have rolled out of bed in the same oversized t-shirt she may or may not have been wearing for the past week? You're probably silently wondering if she's wearing pants under that monstrosity, if she owns clothes that actually fit her, or if she puts any thought into how she appears.
Hi, that girl is me and the answer to all of those questions is yes.
Do I see a problem with wearing XL t-shirts regularly? Absolutely not. Instead of worrying about trivial things such as my appearance to people I don't even know, I care more about my attitude towards others or my responsibilities for the day. Just because I dress like this to run errands or babysit doesn't mean I don't know how to pull myself together for job interviews, important events, or family gatherings. I do in fact shower every day and, not only do I own makeup, but I also know how to apply it believe it or not.
It's just that I'd rather be comfortable while you would rather not be.
And yes, I own multiple big shirts. Shockingly I do have a good sense of hygiene and I do wash my clothes. I even tend not to repeat shirts multiple days in a row (though it has happened once or twice because I'm not a laundry obsessed monster. I'm a human too).
And yes, I am wearing shorts under this. I'm not a creep who decides to wear nothing under a t-shirt out in public. Sure I may not wear pants to bed but that doesn't mean I'll roll up to my favorite burrito place going commando under my t-shirt.
Personally, I believe that beauty comes from within yourself when you are feeling the most comfortable in your own skin. For me, that can be when I'm all dressed up or when I'm in my favorite XL t-shirt and running shorts that you probably can't even see. I'm not dressing for you, I'm dressing for me. I'm sorry if that offends you.
