I’ll admit, I’m a bit celebrity obsessed. I live and breath the world of pop-culture and often find myself on DailyMail.com in my free time at home or stalking the E! News Instagram account when I’m on the go. I’ve even had friends celeb-shame me for knowing so much about all things celebrities as if I knew them. Quite honestly, I don’t see the difference between me loving pop-culture, and someone else loving sports and keeping up with their favorite players.

My pop-culture obsession started young, basically when Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen rose to stardom. I, like many other young girls out there, watched all their movies, bought their Barbie dolls, and even dressed head to toe in their line at Walmart. Then, it was Paris Hilton and Nicole Richie, soon followed by the Kardashians, and the rest is history.

Hollywood pre-Kardashians and social media was a completely different landscape than it is today. Stars like Alexis Ren and Jake Paul, for example, spawning from Instagram and YouTube fame have caught up with the big dogs in Hollywood, hosting award shows, appearing in commercials, and making millions. Coincidently, both stars were born in the top 10 most common states of birth of A-list celebrities, Alexis from California and Jake from Ohio. And while I wouldn’t categorize Alexis or Jake as A-listers of Hollywood, there’s no question that they are the A-listers of the internet.

No matter your view on Hollywood, the truth is that stars have the ability to influence millions and aid in making a difference on so many hot topics in our society today. So many celebrities are using their platform for something much bigger than themselves, taking to social media to speak their truth, calling out industries or people that are morally corrupt. It’s amazing how many women and men in show business are killing the game right now, making waves for social change for our present and future generations.

7 Ways to Make Your Language More Transgender and Nonbinary Inclusive

With more people becoming aware of transgender and non-binary people, there have been a lot of questions circulating online and elsewhere about how to be more inclusive. Language is very important in making a space safer for trans and non-binary individuals. With language, there is an established and built-in measure of whether a place could be safe or unsafe. If the wrong language is used, the place is unsafe and shows a lack of education on trans and non-binary issues. With the right language and education, there can be more safe spaces for trans and non-binary people to exist without feeling the need to hide their identities or feel threatened for merely existing.

Cambio

Singing is something I do all day, every day. It doesn't matter where I am or who's around. If I feel like singing, I'm going to. It's probably annoying sometimes, but I don't care -- I love to sing! If I'm not singing, I'm probably humming, sometimes without even realizing it. So as someone who loves to sing, these are some of the feelings and thoughts I have probably almost every day.
