Valentine’s day is just around the corner, and once again nobody has asked me to be their valentine because I am not in a relationship. It seems like everyone I encounter has a significant other, or is interested in someone. When “holidays” like Valentine’s day rolls around, it can get a little lonely. But for me, I don’t feel that way. You see, I want to have a relationship with someone that will last forever, not just on Valentine’s Day. I want to be in a relationship that will encourage me to grow not only as a person, but in my faith. I want a relationship that will be a journey every day even if we are just enjoying each other’s company.
You know what? I am willing to wait for the type of love that will last a lifetime. Maybe one day I will meet the one I was meant to spend the rest of my life with. Who knows, I may have already meet him. But, if I haven’t, it’s okay. I am very content in where I'm at in life. I am thankful for these days of singleness because it is showing me who I am, and what my destiny is for the future. Who knows, maybe one day I may find someone, but for right now I am okay with being single on Valentine’s Day.
